Great place for lunch! I highly recommend the pecan crusted chicken, mashed potatoes and fried okra. My husband had the chicken fried steak and he loved it. Save room for a homemade dessert.

We were going to Ennis to look at Bluebonnets and wanted to eat lunch so we were looking for a local restaurant. Bailey's had good reviews on Trip Advisor so we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant isn't that large but they have...quite a bit of covered outside seating. The staff were very friendly and polite; typical small town Texas. My wife had the BLT and onion rings. She said the top side of the BLT was fine but the bottom piece of toast was soggy. However, the onion rings were exceptional. We all tried them and loved them. Big, crisp and not greasy. Light breading. One of our group thought these were the best rings she'd ever had. Another person in our group had the chicken fried steak. She thought it was exceptional as well. She is very picky about cream gravy and asked for it on the side. They messed that up but she didn't mind because she said it was excellent. Top notch. The mashed potatoes were fine. Appeared to be from a box but the gravy on them made the difference! She and I both had the fried okra. It was acceptable. Nothing special but not bad by any means. I and one of the other folks had the hamburger steak. It was good. Hamburger steak is pretty easy to prepare but it was fine and the brown gravy was good. The grilled onions on top were tasty. He had the green beans and I had the turnip greens. The green beans were good but the turnip greens were really bland. Tasted like they were out of a can. The dinner rolls were definitely homemade and the folks that ate them RAVED about them. You go up to the register to get your bill and pay. The restroom is a single user facility and boys and girls take turns. They had a good amount of business that appeared to be a combo of both locals and tourists. I wouldn't necessarily make a point to go back but don't regret the choice.More

Hubby & I frequently get catfish dinners to go on Friday evening, & without fail they are cooked to perfection, delicious, & portions are big. Have also tried the Chicken fried steak, & it's the best in town! We've also eaten breakfast there a few...times, and I don't know what they do differently to their pancakes, but I highly recommend them. They put IHOP to shame! Tonight we had cheeseburgers & onion rings. Burgers were HUGE, with tasty homemade buns & other fresh ingredients, and the onion rings were some of the best I've ever tasted. Bailey's is the best!More

Great lunch! Hospitality and service was great. They had a huge group (over 20) arrive just before the 2 of us and were able to handle everything very well. Our food was excellent soup and sandwiches. The soup was tasty homemade. Bacon thick on the sandwiches....Though the building was old and small, the interior was clean and fresh.More

I like the vegetables that are homemade. Great chicken fried steak. The fried fish on Friday & Saturday is all you can eat and is delicious.

We stopped here after church, thinking that we might find a new place in Ennis. I had chicken-fried steak. The wife had a BLT. Mine was ok but it tasted like the oil was a little old. Their onion rings were great. Probably not going...back.More

Very happy with the restaurant. Food was really good. Onion rings were tasty w/o excess grease. Fried okra was well prepared too. Hamburger was generous and good. Others in party enjoyed the melt & other sandwiches. Tighten up the service and this local restaurant becomes...a top find.More

I got 2 tasty Pork chops and Dar Chicken Filried...chicken. Liked my grilled squash. Excel service. Highly recommend it. Also the Bluebonnets and Indian paint brush in ranch fields nearby.More

Picked this place to stop for an early breakfast heading south on I-45 on a Sunday morning. The TripAdvisor listing gives Sunday hours as opening at 7am. Wasn't anyone there at 7:30. Looked interesting. Will never know.

Daily homemade buns for the fabulous hamburger served everyday at Bailey's Cafe. Don't miss out. This is just one of the many great items on the menu. Give it a try. Also, the staff is very helpful and friendly.
