Wonderful fried steak, sweet potatoes and dinner rolls that melt in your mouth. I love this place and come twice every trip to the great state of Texas.

Had the BBQ burger and it was good, but the bun was very soggy. The sweet potato fries were limp. The turtle cheesecake and apple rum sauce pie were good.
We absolutely loved going here! The food was amazing! We got the popcorn shrimp and the qusadilla burger! Both were amazing! The fries were awesome as well!! We would definitely go there again if we ever visited again!!
Ate there twice in a week due to traveling. Sunday’s food and service was great! No issues. We left full and happy. However, when we returned the following Thursday the food and service was mediocre. It was obvious the waitress didn’t want to be there...and she overcharged. When we questioned the ticket she didn’t even apologize for the error. Also, I recommend ordering anything that comes with cheese on it ask for it on the side. Also, I don’t recommend the fish tacos. The fish (whatever kind it was) was overcooked and they added cheddar cheese which overpowered everything in the tortilla. Normally fish tacos don’t normally come with cheddar cheese.More
Do Not Recommend - Ruined Birthday Dinner by Poor Service/Follow Up Poor service after an absurdly long wait time for take out- We were looked over by 5 employees during our over 30 minutes time inside the restaurant waiting for our food that was sitting...on a table - COLD- THE WHOLE TIME. When we explained that we had been waiting right there the whole time to the little girl who told us she told the proper server, she sighed heavily at me like Napoleon Dynamite and said, "Well---- sorry we're busy", and walked away. We then privately reached out to Humphrey Pete's FIRST to explain how poorly we had been treated on my partners birthday dinner. We ordered an appetizer, two steaks AND a desert and all of the food was unappealing in both temperature and presentation. It honestly was not worth the $90 we spent! We got NO RESPONSE back after our inquiry to get our money back. I'll never stop to eat here again and do not recommend for special occasions or any other occasion. Zero SatisfactionMore
Fun, friendly, and FOOD! My word! Go really hungry! Or share! Especially the Chicken Fried Steak, Pete's Classic. You get two sides as well. The chilie is good too and a bit spicey! Pete's Classic covered the platter all by itself! My daughter's chicken fried...chicken also gave her leftovers. On my Intermittent fasting schedule I'll get about 3 meals out of mine! Prices were reasonable. We will go there again when we go back to visit the Harvey House Museum in Brownwood Texas, about 25 miles from Earley.More
Sit down in a relaxed atmosphere, have some great food and great service. Huge portions for the right price.
I ordered soup and a 12 ounce ribeye steak. They arrived together so no time to drink the soup. The stake was cold and did not taste that good. The chef was loud and annoying screaming when he is done make every steak Will not...go backMore
Thanks to Trip Advisor, we stopped for dinnber on the way back home. I had the house salad and shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both well prepared. Husband had the catfish. Ordered the medium and it was more than enough. Heather, our food server was efficient...and personable. I look forward to dining here on our travels again.More
We stopped in here, never having visited before. The atmosphere is old timey with lots of stuff on the walls. The service people were right there taking out drink orders and then returned quickly with those drinks. I ordered the catfish plate and my spouse...ordered the pork ribs. When the food arrived, it was hot and tasty. The Catfish was well cooked and hot. The ribs were done but I like fall off the bone ribs and these ribs had to be gnawed on to get the meat off. The drinks were always full and there was so much food that we couldn't finish it all. I don't know if I would hunt this restaurant up, but wouldn't mind if someone else said they had to go there.More
