If you are a conesieur of Texas BBQ, then a visit to Driftwood, TX and Salt Lick BBQ is a must do. Come prepared to wait because if there is not a wait of at least an hour, something is amiss. Bring your cooler and beverages of choice and enjoy the live music as you anxiously anticipate the water watering... More

The bbq was good but we had a I bad experience in the service. I would go back and give it another try if we are ever in the area again..

Enjoyed Salt Lick BBQ and atmosphere. It's BYOB plus they have a wine tasting room. We ate family style; this meant we were able to have mashed potatoes, cole slaw, beans, bread, BBQ ribs, brisket and sausage - all we could eat. Their BBQ sauce is great and they have a spicy variety as well. Music (duo) was playing while... More

We were in the area for a wedding when a friend said we had to stop here for BBQ. Out in the middle of farm and ranch land. On a little, two lane country road. We were expect a small BBQ place. Lol. Furthest thing from the truth. We turn in. And oh my gosh. We are in this huge,... More

Salt Lick is amazing. I had the turkey and brisket combo plate and it was to die for. The meat seriously melts in your mouth. The sides were also delicious and the bread and ridiculously soft. My mom ordered the pork sandwich and it was out of this world. The restaurant is BYOB but they do have a separate area... More

Salt Lake in Texas is pretty awesome! It is everything visitors would imagine a BBQ joint looks like. From the moment you park the car, you feel like you're walking onto a ranch and the any moment cowboys and horses are going to appear around the corner. But let's get to the food - mmm, mmm, mmm! Yummy! We ordered... More

Every item of food we had here was just fantastic. The chicken was great, the brisket was great, the sausage was great. This is completely worth making the pilgrimage. And be sure to skip lunch so you have enough room for this.

I traveled hundreds of miles on the recommendation of a friend to visit and enjoy the Salt Lick Barbecue. Let me start by saying the drive there is relaxing and beautiful. When I arrived, they have enough parking for a small (well medium sized) Army! I was greeted by a very polite young man that explained a little about Salt... More

Absolutely amazing. We got the plate that had the 4 meats, best way to go to get a sampling. Potato salad was good. The slaw was fine and I don't like slaw. Was not a fan of the beans but husband liked them. Husband got the moist brisket cut, it was good. I got the burnt ends and we'll, words... More
