I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. For my taste buds...BEST BBQ anywhere . The wait staff are prompt and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and authentic hill country. A great place to make memories, as we did for my daughter & son-in-law's wedding rehearsal dinner!

I will admit that I am a little biased about Salt Lick BBQ, but that is because this was one of the first BBQ restaurants I was ever taken to on a date. And there are several other excellent BBQ joints in the area, but Salt Lick is different. The brisket is very moist and tasty and so are the... More

Had the beef rib plate with barely any beef on the ribs, and the meat stuck to the bone. The sauce is excellent, but $22 for sauce?

This is the most unique BBQ ever in that the sauce is totally not traditional Texan. It is yummy- with a little mustard in it. The peach and blackberry cobbler ala mode is to die for. The slaw has an Asian flavor, thanks to the founder's wife. The meat is fork tender. The place is totally cool country Texas, with... More

They have it all, Traditional Texas BBQ, A Wine Tasting Area if you are so inclined (I did not visit this time) And some of the best BBQ I have ever had, and since moving to Texas I have been trying to try them all. Fantastic Staff were so nice even with us getting there 30 minutes early they made... More

Great food - great place. It's a little out of the way from sixth street but it's worth the drive! Picnic tables and amazing BBQ await! Portions are large and prices are good. I wished I could have tried everything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The smoky BBQ atmosphere is worth the drive alone. Go check them... More

This has been my favorite bbq place since the 70's. Their habanero sauce is so unique, and the meat is so yummy.

We have had visitors here for the last 3 weeks, ends (plus birthdays) since we just moved here. Everyone wants Texas BBQ which means Salt Lick. It is only a mile from our new home and it is always busy rain or shine. I have been there so many times I have tried almost everything on their menu. It is all... More

If your looking for real Texas BBQ, this place is it. Although located in the middle of no where, it adds to the ambiance. The drive is maybe 40min for someone not so familiar with Austin. The place is very rustic, located on a vineyard and funny enough is a BYOB. The restaurant is located in a dry county. Which... More
