Yum

As always, great chow! Come here every time we're visiting Austin. My fave is the lean brisket. But have fun trying all the meats. I especially like their cole slaw, made without mayo, and the yummy and potatoes. Can do a plate, or all you can eat.

If your ever in the Austin, Texas area and want BBQ you must go to Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, Texas. Located southwest of Austin, it is worth the 40-45 minute drive to get there. We generally order family style. The brisket is the best, the sausage is perfect and the ribs so good. This place is always busy so... More

I've eaten here several times and it never seems to disappoint. The service is great, though it can feel like a zoo sometimes just trying to get a table. I usually get the triple chop sandwich and just eat the meat with a fork. It's way too much food with the bun. Lot's of people bring coolers and hang out... More

First I must say its is good BBQ. Get the brisket at what level of fatty that you want. Sausage was perfect. Rib was tender with a great rub and a mild smokey flavor. Now the Chopped BBQ sandwich was just that nothing more nothing less and the 12.95 for just the sandwich was way over priced. My Thurman 3... More

We recently ate here and it was a highlight of our trip. There were three of us and we shared Thurman's Plate at the suggestion of our server. There was more then enough for each of us. The pickles they served were out of this world and we asked if they sold those by the jar. Unfortunately, they don't. We... More

This place was suggested by a couple of friends and they were overtop on it. I sinked my teeth into the ribs and I almost fainted. It's so sinful good it's ridiculous. I don't get the negative reviews. They are not warranted. Do yourself a favor if you are around here ...just go and judge for yourself.

My daughter was visiting from college and brought a friend with her whom had never been to the Wimberley area. Therefore we had to introduce her to the original Salt Licks. The brisket was awesome as always as was the sausage, chicken and all the trimmings. As you can see we love all the different meats the serve. If you... More
