We came on a rainy day and were greeted by prompt and friendly staff. I ordered the French Onion Soup which was watered down, and lacking in flavor. My husband ordered another soup and had the same comment. We think patrons would be better serviced to have one of the popular burgers we saw others enjoying.

It could have been the specific dinners that the 4 of us ordered, but we were not impressed with the preparation of the food. In particular, my wife did not care for the Fish and Chips. They appeared to have a great beer selection, but it seemed to be a bit pricey ($8.50 for the beer that I wanted).

The Abbey Inn Restaurant & Pub on Hickory Street in Denton is a great place to enjoy a pint of import, craft, or domestic beer and for a snack or meal in a pub atmosphere. Serving lunch and dinner, they have pub grub favorites like shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, fish & chips, and a Scotch eggs appetizer. They even... More

A colleague and I ate one night and found it good. We went back the next night with two more colleagues who both pronounced it GREAT! Great service. Good drinks. Wonderful food. For starters try the Irish Soda Bread. The Scotch Eggs are unique and great too!

Our daughter and son-in-law recommended this place for Father's Day so we drove over an hour to eat here for lunch and were a bit disappointed. They highly recommended the fish and chips which was made with haddock instead of the usual cod. The half order was only one piece of large fish and wedge fries. The fish was so... More

The Abbey Inn has gone to great effort to look like an English pub in downtown Denton, Texas. They offer British beers and food as well as some more common items. My favorites are the Cottage Pie and the Car Bomb - a delicious brownie sundae with Beth Marie's Guinness ice cream and a shot of Jameson's and Bailey's. OMG!... More

Okay, we were there with a party of 8. The positives first: 1)decent beer selection on tap. 2) skilled and friendly wait staff. I had a reuben and cannot recommend it. It came out soggy. No one else at the table was a raving fan of their meals either. Other in the party didn't much care for their cocktail selections.... More
