We googled "best fried chicken Dallas" and this placed popped up on the search. We live about 30 minutes away and were up for a foodie adventure. This is a bar that happens to specialize in fried chicken. We walked in and were seated at...the bar while we waited for a table to open up. It didn't take too long. Due to Covid, menu was more limited and capacity reduced. The menu was still diverse enough for our family. All types of people stoped in and we loved the diversity of people as well. While a little darker inside, it was expected since it is primarily a bar. Once seated at a table, the waiter walked us through their specialities We decided to all get the BNB Bowl and one side of mac n cheese to share. Food did take a bit to arrive to the table as the kitchen was slammed and was small. Waiter was friendly and kept everything rolling. It has a brick wall and small vibe. Our daughters are young adults, so they enjoyed the louder, party vibe. The bowls were delicious and the Mac n cheese glorious! I recommend drizzling their hot sauce on top to add another demension of flavor. Corn was crispy, gravy light, chicken nuggets were good, mashed potatoes light and fluffy. Mac and cheese had large rigatoni noodles and was creamy without being drippy. It was shareable as a tasting for 4 of us since we were full from the hearty bowl. We will have to return to try the other offerings. We didn't feel rushed and the waiter replenished our drinks from time to time. Parking can be an issue ad we had to park at a meter a few blocks away. We downloaded the parking app and were able to monitor our meter and add more time. Some of the parking lots can be quite expensive, but meters were cheap. It is a walkable area, but known for higher crime. We stayed vigilant and the other people out and about were friendly.More

We were craving fried chicken and came across Brick & Bones. Although they have had to limit their menu based on these Covid 19 times, their selection was still good one. We enjoyed their 6 pc chicken and 3 sides. The chicken was moist, very...well seasoned and perfectly crisp! Squirting on lime wedges also added to the wonderful flavor. We also ordered the habanero bacon mac n cheese, Mexican corn and the green beans. All were excellent! The beans were saltier than I normally like, but the flavor was wonderful. The place is a little hard to find, but worth the search.More

We visited early with some Family from Dallas. We were in town to visit family and have some fun. We arrived and were quickly seated on a long thin table that was fantastic for our group being a little larger and allowed us to talk,...laugh and eat as a family we all shared tastes of everything. We were a diverse group from teens to 60’s. We all loved the vibe it displaced. The menu is small, simple and to the point. Very reasonably priced. All the chicken is fantastic. Sides are wonderful. Atmosphere is radiant and perfect. Our drinks were fantastic. They have beers, wine and poured drinks. Deep Ellum is a great area of Dallas. Older buildings renovated to newer shops, restaurants and bars. I’m sure as we left, the whole area was hoping as I used to say in my 20’s. So no matter your age, go check it out! It’s worth it.More

First time in Texas and Dallas and Deep Ellum. Discovered this place while just looking for something to do. I’m here for a new position with America Airlines, and it is HOT. The room they put me in was cool (La Quinta DFW South in...Irving) and glad they did. Deep Ellum is the definite party center/bohemian center of Dallas. Lost of small eats, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. ALL manner of people there, especially over the weekends. You’ll see the tattoos, business people, hobos, you name it. The place itself has a nice decor with a side bar area to your right as you enter. I was there early with my group, and they hesitated to go in. I love a new adventure (within reason), and the place screams, “love me, or leave me” The brick of the building brings out the mood of the place and the food. Drink is drink, but a good chicken joint is priceless. The attendant who serve me was cute, and looked after us nubes. The hot chicken is spicy but not too hot, with a bright pepper seasoning. The oil they use to smother the hot is not oily nor thick or dripping. Chicken is cooked to perfection and the added bonus is their sides. Their mashed potato is rustic yet creamy with a chive/garlic taste. My buddies ordered regular chicken and a beet salad, but they tell me it was great tasting. Crunchy but not so that you hear crackle, and the seasoning was on point, not too salty yet salty enough to warrant a beer or two. In heart, this place is a bar that just happen to have chicken. You can find a table early enough, but I figure if you go later evenings on Friday/Saturday, the place will be packed. Don’t let that ruin it though; places like that thrive on the experience and the food. Go with a friend and have a few, or share a drink with a local; this is the spot.More

Don’t let the entry fool you. If I hadn’t heard about this place in advance, I wouldn’t have gone in. Not very much curb appeal. Has the look and feel of an ordinary bar on the outside. Wouldn’t even think it was a restaurant. But...go inside. Do it!!! The chicken was fantastic! The sides were awesome. Jalapeño biscuits with gravy !!!! Habanero MAC and Cheese !!!!! Wasabi Mash Potatoes. !!!!! Mexican corn !!!!!! And did I mention the chicken! Our server Gretchen was so nice and answered all our questions and went out of her way to have some custom cocktails created for us. She was great! Go in and experience this place! You’ll be glad you did.More

Get your life at Brick & Bones!!!!!!! The chicken here gives Popeyes a run for their money. So juicy, so crispy, and SO much flavor. We had the sexy chicken (fried but not battered) and the 6 pc battered and fried chicken...we were pretty much...licking our fingers by the end of dinner. We also had the elote and macaroni and cheese which were quite yummy as well! Contemplated going back a second night in a row but decided it probably wasn’t the healthiest option to have fried chicken 2 nights in a row but ohhhh was it tempting! To top it off, the bartenders were so friendly and helpful with suggesting items on the menu. Loved the atmosphere of this place too! The next time I’m in Dallas, this is the FIRST place I will go to eat. For anyone visiting Dallas or living there and have yet to visit Brick & Bones, it is imperative that you make your way there ASAP. That is all :)More

Boy, has Deep Ellum changed! In many ways, this is for the best, though it still feels odd hearing Shaggy playing over the speakers of rooftop bars...in any case, Brick & Bones is the perfect blend of old and new: dark and a bit grungy...with cool and relaxed vibes, but with some creative cocktails, a decent selection of craft beers, and excellent food. We had the hot chicken, habanero bacon Mac and cheese, and the Mexican corn; every bite was better than the next. Honestly, we couldn’t decide what we liked most because everything was just that good. Brick & Bones is also in a good location in Deep Ellum with lots of other restaurants/bars/clubs in super close proximity.More

We have been regulars since Brick and Bones opened 3 years ago. We take all of our out of town friends here. It is a great dive bar with the best fried chicken you’ll ever eat.

I had not originally planned on eating at Brick & Bones, but my plans had fallen through and I still wanted to eat somewhere unique while I was visiting Dallas. I cam across Brick & Bones and I was not disappointed. The Fried Chicken was...full of flavour. The pre-brined chicken makes a huge difference that you can really taste. I also had the Mexican corn side, which was just as enjoyable to eat as the fried chicken. My server was super friendly and make some great suggestions and made sure that I tried the hot sauce! Unique, great food, and friendly people. Great combination.More

The fried chicken and mac and cheese is to die for. Would never have come to this restaurant if it wasn't for our friends who live in Dallas and love this place. Wish this was in Australia!!!!

I picked up 3 different types of chicken that are listed on d magazines best chicken list... brick and bones, babes, and big mamas. I took them home and had a fried chicken party with 20 or so friends, everyone but me voted brick and...bones as the best chicken... that says something about the chicken, when a large group of diverse people all vote it as the best. They didn't have a bucket option for white meat or mixed white and dark meat, so that is def a negative. But the strips weren't bad.More

Mom and I went for dinner. We shared the chicken tenders, there are 5 to a basket-sorta small but not a problem. We ordered several sides as well so we were stuffed by the end of our meal! We got the mac and cheese, the...mashed potatoes, and the Mexican corn. The mac and cheese has large noodles, not like Kraft mac and cheese. It is delish. The Mexican corn is unbelievable! I could not get enough. The mashed potatoes were also really good. Great meal, great server-we sorta wish there was a little more light so it was easier to read the menu and see our food :) But we are old, we need a little more light to see!! Definitely a place to try if you are in Deep Ellum for dinner!More

Very quirky and cool place to hang out, have a drink (very interesting selection and unique mixed drink combos!) and enjoy fried chicken like you've never experienced before. Top it off with amazing Mac and Cheese, and some "off the chart" creamed corn, and your...experience is complete. Deep Ellum is the best hang in Dallas and Brick and Bones fits right in to the quirky and cool vibe!!! Check it out! Highly recommend!!!More
