The Alligator Cafe was our go-to place for ten years or so. Then, the ownership changed. Now, we will probably not be back. We got teased about the amount of times we checked in here. We got asked if we were stockholders. Finally, some of our pickier friends agreed to visit and see this wonderful place. They were a few... More

My husband and I were frequent (as in a few times a week) patrons of this restaurant for over ten years. The original owner sold the restaurant a few months ago, and the new owner is ruining what was a great restaurant. We went for dinner with friends on a Saturday recently. Our friends had heard us rave about the... More

We really wanted to start choosing restaurants that weren't the normal big box chains on the corner. So we read all the reviews and headed to Alligator Cafe. It was a Thursday night so we thought okay it wouldn't be crowded. Boy were we right...we were the only people there for most of our meal/experience except for 2 women who... More

I ordered blackened trout. The fish was over-cooked and not so tasty. My kid order a shrimp gumbo and she said it was not so good compared with what she had before in New Orleans. Service was good though.

I had the privilege of eating here with my daughter for her birthday. The service was great and they had many options on the menu. The waitress was very sweet and make wonderful suggestions. The decor was fun and they had live music, also.

We came here because of the crawfish. There were to be ready anytime at 5pm, well two hours later we decided to just get them to go. They were terrible, had no flavor what so ever. The "regular" food however was outstanding (since the crawfish wasn't ready we ordered from the menu) Blackened catfish with a cream sauce over dirty... More

Stopped here for lunch. The service was quick and courteous. The food was great as well. I had the Fried Catfish Atchafalaya which is a piece of Catfish covered in Shrimp Etouffee' over Dirty Rice. It was a good portion and nicely flavored. The gumbo was also rich and hearty. The Po Boys are large! Easily enough for a second... More

Went for lunch this time and the lunch specials looked delicious, but I couldn't not have their delicious shrimp and cheesy grits -- sinful, but oh, so good. We ate outside on the patio which was very enjoyable. My dining companion pronounced his shrimp po'boy great. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. What more could you ask for?

Food was excellent and staff was very accommodation and helpful, we took our son with severe food allergies and the waitress was very helpful in getting his meal prepared a certain way and making sure that there was no cross contamination.
