Al Biernat's was a lot of fun, and the setting was great. Dark mahogany, linen tablecloths, and sparling silver and glassware provide a great atmosphere. I was alone, and the general conviviality of the place was refreshing. The steak was superb. The waiter insisted that I get half-orders, not full orders, of the sides, and he was right. I also... Bummer! Not the Al Biernat's I remember from 15 years gone by. It was over the top then, so I came with high expectations, especially with the continued popularity in Dallas and our competitive steak restaurant options. I found that they lost their zing. I will say all was good...but not great. In fact I dumped half, of the half... More

My husband and I decided to treat our son and his wife to an anniversary dinner. We had been to Al Biernat's for lunch and enjoyed it so we decided to try it for dinner. What a treat. As soon as we walked it, we were treated with best wishes for the happy occasion starting with the valet driver. The... More

I've visited Al Biernat's five times now (three for dinner, once for lunch, once for happy hour), and I can't understand the justification of the cost... for the food, specifically. Sure, it's tasty - good steak, nice side selection, great service - but for that high of a cost, you could go somewhere else for much less of the price.... More

This was my first visit here. I will say the entire staff was wonderful. Excellent customer service from the time the car is valet parked until you leave. I only had a few items, so my review is based on those alone. The petite filet mignon was truly wonderful. Cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The sides, for me, ranged... More

40th anniversary. Decided to go with the best, and that's Al Biernat's. It met all expectations. Service was seamless and food was terrific. Attention to our anniversary was very nice, as well. Just one example: from the time we got up to leave until we hit the front door, at least 5 people, from busboys to hostesses, thanked us for... More

My husband had been to Al Biernat's in the past and wanted to take me on a recent business trip. We made reservations and was running about 5 minutes late so we called and the young lady was very nice. I had the Filet Mignon and it literally melted in my mouth. Also, had the creamed corn based on another... More

As with my previous brunch here, the service was wonderful. The complimentary croissant/pastry basket had very tasty treats, especially the croissants. Moreover, they were happy to refill the basket when we polished it off. So why, I hear you say, do I only give it a rating of 3? The food we ordered was mediocre. Two of us had the... More

Al Biernat's is a classic American steakhouse with expertly prepared food, gigantic portions, and stellar service. The wine list is extensive, and sides are meant to share amongst the table. While certainly not cheap, a visit to Al Biernat's is a worthwhile endeavor. The prime rib, when available, is a must-order. The chicken piccata is quite memorable, as is the... More

This is an excellent option for a special evening with family or a special business client. Extensive wine list, nice ambience (with a busy bar), and exceptional menu -- steaks, pork, and seafood. It is an expensive night out -- but highly enjoyable.
