Why on earth they serve a cup of their tortilla soup without chicken? I had to order chicken on the side. The waiter was slow forgetful . Tortilla soup suppose to include avocado, chicken, cheese. What else? Do I have to write it? Not water.

Service was great and fast. Exactly what I ordered. Got the chimichanga with salsa verde (green chile sauce). The chimi itself was excellent. The salsa was also very good, but it had a bit of vinegar/sweet taste to it. Pico de gallo was the tops. Haven't had it that good since I made my own at home. $13.08 total bill... More

The service was good and fast. I had brisket nachos and it was adequate. I really think there should have been more flavor to the meat especially.

A group of 30 of us from our church met here for lunch just as they opened. We were treated with helpful and courteous servers --- even when we told them separate checks! Some ordered the buffet and others from the menu. The lunch menu even applies on Sunday from which I ordered. Service was timely and everyone seemed to... More

We've eaten at El Fenix for years in the many locations in the Dallas area. Recently we ate at the location on Northwest Highway close to North Park. The food was delicious. Always served hot and quick. We also had a queso guacamole combo appetizer. Everything was wonderful. The server was friendly and attentive. Can't go wrong with El Fenix.

The food was good. The service was good, but the 25 or so children fighting with napkins right across from our table made for a very disappointing evening. I told the manager it was the "worst." They should not seat adults right next to large parties of very young children The manager was so accommodating and did not charge for the... More

As a teenager visiting relatives in Dallas in the late 60's, El Fenix was just about the only Mexican restaurant where we ate! Many years later I find myself back in the Dallas area on a semi-regular basis and excited to try El Fenix again. Several months ago, we ate at the original downtown location and it was so very... Other than the wonderful chips, the food here is subpar. I was hoping to eat great Mexican in a truly old school atmosphere. What I got was extremely poor. I ordered three different kinds of tacos and their tortilla soup. The tacos were without flavor or punch and the soup was simply bland. Very unfortunate and a waste of a... More

I love the food at El Fenix! I eat there every time I visit Dallas. The menu has a wide variety of selections, and each is prepared with fresh ingredients. I have tried many different dishes, and every one has been delicious. The servings are generous and served at the right temperature. The guacamole is great, as are their chips... More
