My husband and I celebrated our 61st wedding anniversary today with lunch at Lavendou. It is a quaint, cozy restaurant, decorated in French country style. The food was absolutely delicious. I love their lavender infused iced tea. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. Cost only $60 for...the two of us. Like Fraiser and Niles, we can always find something to critique, and in this case, it's the art on the walls. This is such an attractive place which could be vastly improved by upgrading the wall decor. A small thing, overall...really. I do recommend the restaurant. They also offer Afternoon Tea, which they mistakenly advertise on their website as High Tea. Do some research, please, and learn the difference. As one who has had tea many times during my 15 or more trips to the UK, I find it irritating that people can't learn this difference. Like I said...Fraiser & Niles.More

Very good food. Very good service. Nice enough ambiance. Only issue was noise. We will be back. Wish I could give 4.5 stars

Been here two or three times when visiting the area. Always incredibly delicious! Have the scallop appt, Redfish special, and chocolate mousse cake.

Outstanding place in every respect. Lavendou is so very consistent that we never hesitate to bring out of town visitors. The waiter as well as the owner are attentive and clearly determined your visit meets all expectations. To focus on just our meal last night:...My wife once again ordered her favorite dish-- roasted duck with cassis sauce served on wild rice!! and, with Pierre's recommendation I had the duck confit. Both meals were exceptional and further cemented our confidence that Lavendou is amongst the upper tier of dinning destinations in Dallas. Oh, and by the way the soufflés are a MUST order dessert.More

We were in the Dallas area for two days and had made a reservation for the first night. Though we were staying more than a two-hour round trip away from the restaurant, we returned the second night with great pleasure. We were expecting "good" but...found "amazing." Food and service were brilliant, especially the sommelier, the server from near Lyon and the owner, whose graciousness and generosity of spirit were beyond belief and sadly rare. Everything was first-rate but the canard (duck), seafood dishes, wines, lavender creme brûlée and the apple tart were beyond belief. Wines by the bottle are a bit pricier than necessary, but superb. Ambience is completely authentic Provencal. We are serious foodies who have traveled extensively throughout France and have enjoyed many meals in Provence. I would rate Lavendou Bistro Provencal among our finest dining experiences anywhere. If we find ourselves anywhere near Dallas again, we will head straight for Lavendou. Ah, yes: the receptionist/hostess, who was absolutely charming and attentive, got both evenings off to a great start.More

A Family Favorite Always enjoyable to dine here or pick up. French cuisine specializing in dishes from the southern coast but featuring entrees from all over the country. Highlights are the duck, lamb shank and anything with champagne cream sauce. Great selection of primarily French...wines.More

Very classy. Very French. I started my feast with escargots, served with garlic, butter and parsley. Then onto my entrée of grilled salmon with basil white wine sauce. It came with rice. Haute cuisine. I sipped a glass of chardonnay with it. The salmon and...wine went so well together. Professional service.More

Lavendou is as close to being in France as you can get. French onion soup is outstanding. My wife had Dover Sole in lemon butter sauce. She said it was outstanding and not 1 bone. I had Coquille St Jacque en papillote that was PERFECT....Eric our 23 y/o server from France was a pleasure to talk with. He was very attentive and checked on us often. 5 Stars all the way.More

It was so Heavenly, I don't care to list all the various appetizers, entrees, and desserts we enjoyed. 12 plates of food deliciously prepared. A bright spot in the middle of the pandemic experience. Our server, Eric and everything all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

My dad worked for a Parisian-based company. My mom’s FAVORITE restaurant is Lavendou! We are there monthly and celebrated my mom’s 91 and 92nd Birthday there! I told my, now, 94 year old mom when she got out of COVID jail we were going to...celebrate at Lavendou. That then turned into getting out of Nursing Home jail. She never made it! A week after, I hosted a tribute to my mom at Lavendou with her caregiver and my mom’s best friend. It was emotional but the staff and owner was so kind coming over to offer condolence; our wonderful waiter bringing over her favorite dessert to the table. It could not have been more intimate and memorable in addition the best food West of France. I LOVE Lavendou! Thank you.More

This looks like a coastal front by some island such as Blue Grotto off the coast of the Isle of Capri in Italy.
