My wife and I took my mother out after being home bound for 2 months, Beautiful, quiet setting. Impeccable service and food. Everything was wonderful. The food was all delicious and prepared perfectly. Social Distancing was followed correctly. Best French Dip sandwich that I have...ever tasted.More

Houston’s grilled chicken salad with peanut sauce is salad perfection. Hubby loves the pork chop or chicken tenders with thin fries and house made ketchup. Love the spinach and artichoke dip and the shrimp. Dear son loves the ribs. Everything we have had has been...exceptional. Service is usually excellent.More

There is something welcoming about Houston’s. The music, the decor, the service...The Food! I usually eat at the bar because the bartenders are super cool. And I almost always have a great conversation with a fellow patron. ☺️

My wife and I have been living in North Dallas for almost 20 years, and in all that time, I think I’ve had a “sit-down dinner” at Houston’s maybe twice... and both times it, was, of course, great. But what I and my wife really...love is heading over there around 3:00 or 4:00, grabbing a couple os seats at the bar, and having one of the classiest happy hours available in Dallas. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Great people-watching. And truly spectacular appetizers!! I don’t normally like salmon, but their smoked salmon with toast points is fantastic. The veggie burger is, my wife tells me, one of the very best she’s ever had. And , when they are in season, you can’t go wrong with the wood fired grilled artichokes. A great place!More

This was our second time to this Houston’s. This time it was a party of six. Even though an early Sunday afternoon , we were seated quickly and greeted by our server almost immediately. We all had different dishes, I the Hawaiian Steak, and all...found their food delicious. I was impressed with both the cut of the ribeye as well as the taste. I recommend you ask for the french fry salt. We all shared the 5 nut brownie and key lime pie for dessert. These two were incredible. The service was impeccable, the food wonderful and the ambiance encouraged an entertaining family meal.More

This kills me to give it 1 star. I have been a regular at Houston's since 1991. Though Dallas has been the anchor restaurant I have dined at their Atlanta (2), New Orleans, South Florida (3) and Houston locations, too, over the past 20+ years....I know what to expect. They have always been pricey yet the food and service have typically justified the price. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. The past 3 trips to Houston's in 2019 I have left *disappointed*. The most obvious is how small the portions have gotten on side items and full salads. $7 for a side of French Fries that are the same portion as McDonald's. $18 for a chicken club salad, which is very good, but could be considered a *side salad* at other dining establishments (!). On our last visit, our server was nice but too often we had to wait for refills on our drinks and the attentiveness was average to below average. Their Iron Skillet Beans, which were once fantastic, were another $7 side item that was *maybe* 6 tablespoonfuls? I expressed my concerns to a new manager "Walter" and he was less than concerned when I expressed dissatisfaction in the overall decline and satisfaction with the food, reduced portions, prices, and mediocre service. He just told me that he would pass my "concerns" to "corporate" What a joke. I get better customer service at the Texas Department of Motor Safety. Let me say this, I suggest anyone that is thinking about going to Houston's, go visit Kenny's Wood Fire Grill about .5 mile down the street on Beltline Rd. Similar menu, more generous portions, slightly better pricing, and warm friendly service that makes you want to come back.More

The food is always good, prices a little high and crowded most of the time. Have been a customer many years in Dallas and Atlanta with our family. They use to have the best chicken tenders and now you have to ask for them as...they are not on the menu.More

Had lunch with a friend. Had not been there for years. Really busy place. By 11:30 AM the place was slammed with people waiting outside to get in. I do not understand why this place is so popular. I had the so-called "Crispy Chicken Sandwich."...It was virtually a complete disaster. Message to the cook - soggy and crispy are not the same thing. Once upon a time the chicken was crispy but it was soaked in fluid coming from the kale concoction that was piled on it. Have to admit the kale was tasty but again there was a lot of fluid in it which did not work on the sandwich. Did not understand the cheese either. It was a cold tasteless piece of cardboard kind of thing. Is this supposed to be a hot sandwich or no? My friend had a salad which she was happy with. I am reluctant to speculate but maybe some menu items work out well and others fail because of a yuppie driven desire to incorporate kale whether it fits or not. Also the sandwich was physically enormous. I had to decompose it to eat it because I refuse to try to cram something that big into my mouth. It was like a joke from Triple D on the Food Channel.More

Was with a group of coworkers this week and had dinner plans elsewhere, but we stopped at Houston's for a cocktail before heading out into the nigh. Houston has a large bar area that is comfortable and well stocked. I had a nice glass of...wine while others sampled a wide range of cocktails. While Houston's is a chain, they do a good job of keeping it from feeling like one. I've had lunch here in the past and the food is always good. It can get really crowded here at times so if you want to stop in, allow for a little extra time. In all, a good option when in the area.More
