We had the vegetarian Lasagna and Tortellini Arrabbiata. We had both customized - asked for Arrabbiata sauce be used for the Lasagna and for more veggies in addition to mushroom in the Tortellini. Both dishes were made from scratch and tasted good. The Lasagna was...a bit too cheesy for me. The complimentary bread was good – dense and sourdough like (which we prefer) rather than the white flour kinds. Our waiter was pleasant and friendly but did not check in on us as often as we would have preferred. The fact that it is a BYOB is great ($4 corkage fee)! Good ambiance and conversation friendly. We would certainly go back.More

Our family ate here on Christmas Eve before going home to open gifts. Food and service were great. We love this neighborhood restaurant. Everyone needs to know, though, that it is a BYOB situation. We love that aspect of it, but others may not. Over...all experience and food really good.More

I feel for any Italian restaurant here in the states, as those that have traveled to Italy will benchmark the food at an Italian restaurant with that from the home country, a nearly impossible feat as the ambiance in Florence, Rome, Napoli, etc will make...ANY food taste magical, right? The folks at Mangiamo did one heck of job competing...while the ambiance won't blow you away, the food was as good as I've had in Dallas for Italian. Their marina was incredibly vibrant, the linguine with white clams was brimming with tender seafood and depth of flavor...and the service rocked as well. We'll be back.More

We ate here on Super Bowl Sunday accidentally - tried to go to an adjacent restaurant, but they closed early, so we came here, and it was wonderful. The place was empty, but a fairly steady stream of take-out that early evening, and a handful...of customers eventually wandered in. They have a reliable and interesting menu, with many Italian favorites, some with a twist. It's decently priced, and the service was so lovely, with obviously fresh ingredients and fairly fast preparation time. We will surely return on purpose next time.More

We've eaten at Mangiamo many times with 6-12 and enjoy returning. There were ten of us in the BYOB restaurant with Sinatra music playing. We bring wine; there's a $2 corkage fee per bottle. I ordered linguini with clams in red sauce. The red sauce...is not too sweet, many small clams were in the well-cooked pasta. My husband ordered the Chicken Caprese, stating that it was the most tender chicken he's ever eaten. We split a side salad; we ordered two orders of the delicious garlic rolls for the table. My son-in-law ordered his favorite dish, the Chicken Pesto with Farfalle. My daughter and niece split a Mediterrenean Salad and passed it to others. My niece ordered Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti in Marinara; my daughter ordered linguini with shrimp. My brother-in-law ordered the only pizza any of us has tried and enjoyed it. The medium was so big he only ate two slices and took the rest home. Two people ate different eggplant dishes and one ate the delicious lasagna, taking half home. We all like the food and service.More

While the service wasn’t the best- had to ask for silverware twice- this is a solid choice for traditional Italian food and I do recommend it. They don’t seem to serve wine or beer but it looked like you could bring your own. The eggplant...Florentine and cheesecake were both excellent.More

We can’t believe it’s taken us 6 years to find this wonderful Italian restaurant! We lucked out and did not have to wait on a Saturday night when usually the line is out the door. My husband and I were starving so we started with...fried mozzarella...delicious! But the garlic knot rolls outdid our appetizer! They are the best we’ve ever tasted. Adriana, our stellar server, suggested I try the spaghetti and meatballs...best meatballs I’ve ever had. My husband had the lasagna and said it was very tasty and a nice sized portion. It’s always a plus when we can bring our own wine! Mangiamos will now be part of our date night Italian restaurant list!More

Another great meal at Mangiamo. Don't confuse the name with Maggiano, as this place is authentic Italian food. Love the BYOB. Good service. Calamari and meatballs appetizers were delicious. The homemade marinara is great and truly authentic Italian. Great bread/rolls! The chicken special was so...tender, delicious vodka sauce and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Maybe the best part of a great meal was the lemon cello cake. It is shipped in from NY weekly.More

This is true Italian food, just like my Italian friends mothers and grandmothers used to make. It's straight up quality Italian. Simple ingredients that focus on flavor rather than schwank. Pasta is always cooked to perfection. The meatballs, ahhhh, the meatballs. My mouth started watering...just thinking about them. Salads are crisp, cold and NOT smothered in dressing. The house bread is crunchy on the outside and yeasty soft on the inside. The best part, the main server is, I swear, Sofia Loren incarnate. She is as pleasant and helpful as can be and makes sure always have a great experience. The entire staff is helpful without being overbearing. Pizza is NYC style which makes sense since the owners are from the Bronx. I rarely go out for Italian (rather cook it myself), but when I do this is the place I go.More
