Went for a Wednesday night dinner with a friend. Loved every minute!! Our server Nasya was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu and navigated my friends dairy allergy with class and grace. She made the night free from anxiety about what was in our dish. The drinks are definitely a highlight here. Our favorites included The Bread and Butter Martini which tasted like delicious spicy bread and butter pickles fresh from the farmers market and the Rhubarb Negroni which was a staff recommendation that took us by surprise. They make it with dry vermouth making it clear instead of a typical red color. Very well balanced with citrus and refreshing notes. For food we had the Shell Pea Hummus and Rock Shrimp Ceviche appetizers and the Roasted Sea Scallops with carrot risotto and Grilled Salmon with cauliflower rice. Both were so delicious we couldn’t stop eating off each other’s plates. Bobby the manager came by to make sure our evening was great and even chatted with us for a while about their amazing original cocktails.

I enjoyed cocktails and appetizers in a lovely setting with impeccable service (thank you Alejandro!). Breakfast the following morning was delicious and Unknown (that is his name) provided great service. We dined here as guests of the hotel and is part of the reason I would return. Thank you, Ellie's!

Ate in their lounge for a quick bite. Full bar included Hall wines. Their burger was huge and included house made bread and butter pickles. Beautiful atmosphere and great service!

I had a burger the first night and we had breakfast the next 2 days. The food was good on the scale but there are some downfalls. The night I got the burger it was kinda dry but they didn't provide any condiments or even ask so when I got to the room with it I had to ear fries without ketchup and I like ketchup on my ketchup. For me personally any location that only has Pepsi products will get a bad rating but Joshua was great along with his staff for breakfast. He mentioned they are working on menu changes that was very encouraging as they are newly open. I offered a recommendation to him and the chef implemented it the next day. The food was hotel food and that I the best way to describe it, I just know they can do much better in a luxury hotel. I do highly recommend a stay here as you will not meet a friendlier staff anywhere and that makes up for any shortcomings.

Not at all impressed with Ellie’s! While staying in the Hall Arts Hotel, we went Ellie’s for cocktails and dinner. Ordered cocktails which took 25 minutes to get to our table and one of the cocktails we ordered wasn’t even correct. Then it took another 15 minutes before we ever got what we ordered. By that time the cocktails were watered down. Then the dinners we ordered took almost an hour to reach our table. And the food was already cold. Plus, the service was very subpar for such an expensive and touted restaurant. Waiter was unkempt and seemed to not know what he was doing. Definitely do not recommend Ellie’s and we will not be going back.

This is one of my favorite places to go before a show because of the beautiful scenery and how close it is to the theater. The food is amazing as well as the atmosphere and live music, But every time we dine in there is always something missing. I got my $24 martini in a cup instead of a glass while my friend got her champagne in a wine glass because “They ran out of glasses.” My husband also recieved his old fashion with no cherrys because they also ran out. We’ve come here before and they always seem to be missing wines no matter which one we order. It’s frustrating not being able to have the full experience especially when prices for cocktails are $20+.

This was our first dining experience in Dallas. We made a special trip for the Eclipse and were only in Dallas for two nights, so we found someplace special to go on our first night and the reviews for this restaurant were spectacular. Coming in, the decor is wonderful. Cool murals, beautiful lighting and a warm and inviting ambiance. We were seated promptly for our early 5:30PM reservation. I ordered the spicy butternut squash soup and the beet salad with shrimp. My partner ordered the harvest salad with chicken. The butternut squash soup came out first, just above room temperature and a fairly skimpy amount, especially considering I ordered the bowl and not the cup. Our salads arrived together. Mine was more of a cabbage salad with 8-9 small pieces of beet along the side. My partner's salad, which was supposed to have two types of squash in it, had no squash at all. My partner asked our server about it, and she went to check in the kitchen. She came back and informed us that they were out of squash, that's why there was none in the salad. No apology, just informing us that's what happened. She offered to send over the manager to speak with us. She spoke to the manager (I could see them speak before he came over to us) and he came over and asked us how he could help us. While he was obviously informed as to the problem, he played dumb and asked my partner to explain what the problem was. She told him, and he said he was sorry that they ran out of squash. Not sorry that no one had told us about the problem, not sorry that they hadn't offered us another option, but just sorry that they had run out of squash. After some discussion, he offered a free drink or dessert (we ended up getting a flourless chocolate cake). To be honest, for a restaurant that is charging $30 for a salad with chicken, they should be embarrassed to serve an incomplete plate to someone. But they weren't, and didn't address the issue properly. In addition, the service was generally poor. My partner went over to grab a bottle of water because we were waiting so long for our glasses to be re-filled. The used plate from the butternut squash soup was still on our table when we were eating the flourless chocolate cake (along with all of the other dishes). To be honest, as a small business owner, I really dislike writing poor reviews. I know how tough it can be some times to provide good customer service, and the challenges that businesses face these days. But to go somewhere where they are charging top dollar, where the service, the food, and the attitude of the staff in general was poor to addressing our problem, I felt the need to write this review. To be fair, one of the servers who wasn't handling our table came over to ask about the salad, and seemed generally distraught that we were having a sub-par meal. Also, the general manager at the desk in the hotel where this restaurant is located was also very apologetic and supportive when we were asking where to grab some tacos after our unsatisfactory meal.

One would expect when you go to one of the alleged best restaurants in Dallas, you would have a singular experience. The experience was singular alright, singularly poor and disappointing. This was our Christmas party which everyone was in holiday mode. It started with the waitress who when asked if the salmon was wild-caught, she answered an affirmative yes, only to come back our table to inform us it was not. Then it went downhill from there as did our trust in her recommendations. She was inattentive and we had to flag her whenever we needed something( which was more often than needed to be). Then my main course roasted duck came. It was tough, and had a funny taste, almost inedible. The ribs were pretty mediocre, as was the salad. And the whole meal for our party was very expensive and frankly overpriced. I felt a little cheated like we were paying for the view of the art( which admittedly was beautiful) with a meal thrown in as an afterthought. Online research shows Ellie’s to be one of the top restaurants in Dallas. This is simply not true. I felt quite deceived. For the service and food, I’d rate it barely 2.5 stars. For the ambiance-5 stars.

I informed our waiter Adam that I am severely allergic to all fish and shellfish and have to avoid cross contamination, and he brought out our charcuterie board with salmon spread on it. He thought this was ok since it was “not touching.” I sent the board back, and asked to talk to the chef about the entrees. The chef seemed knowledgeable and communicated better instructions to the team for the entrees, but he wasn’t apologetic. Neither the chef nor any other managers did any other table touches to make sure we were okay following me asking to talk to the chef about entrees. Overall, the restaurant has beautiful scenery, and innovative menu, and the drinks were great, but I did not feel safe eating there as an allergy patron. I expected more for approx $40 a plate.

Four of us enjoyed a dinner prior to the Symphony concert. We had reservations. The server was helpful to us as our son needed to be served immediately as he is in the choir. Drinks were waiting for us at the table. We travel and dine out more than average. The quality of the food was exceptional and the prices were not too expensive. What was really impressive was the service. Both the Chef and the manager (who was only in Dallas a month) asked us about our meal and drinks. Both spent time with us at the table and were very interested in our opinions. Will definitely return.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Chef Dan is amazing! Everything we ate we really liked. For appetizer we had the Duck Confit Tostada, Crispy Thin Flat Bread w/chicken, spiced nuts, and the Texas Shell Pea Hummus. We were actually full at this point but couldn’t pass on the main course, so we had the Ribeye Steak, and the Grilled Salmon on a bed of cauliflower rice. All delicious, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully. They have a great selection of beverages but if you like red wine, I suggest you try Ellie’s Cabernet, it went really well with the steak. Not to forget desert, the Joy Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich and the Earl Grey Tea Panna Cotta were wonderful. In addition, the pianist (David) played beautiful music and had a wonderful voice. The staff were very friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. Overall, it was a great evening!!! I’m so sorry to see Bobbie the supervisor gone from here but I’m sure she is making her mark where ever she is.

The food is delicious but what really also loved is the quality care of the personnel everyone it’s amazing they check every time to see if you need anything how was the food, and dad to me is more than Customer Care. Upon arrival the host greated me warmly and asked if I had a preference of where to sit. I ordered breakfast and was immediately brought coffee as I waited for my food. The food was delicious. In the evening, I went to pick up a dessert. They were out of the one I wanted but the host was quick to recommend an alternate option. I was invited to sit anywhere I wanted as I waited. The dessert was also very good. The seating was comfortable and the ambiance pleasant.

What a superb “hidden” restaurant jewel in the renowned Dallas Arts District! Chelsea recommended an amazing salmon dish, perfectly cooked, plated and served. She complemented the elegant ambiance with a brief history of the hotel and restaurant, which helps to explain the outstanding wine options, as well as the personal touches that include a grand piano and curated artwork. I look forward to hosting family members for tomorrow’s dinner and to recommend following Chelsea’s suggestions! Bravo! Encore please!
