Rana's is open for lunch and dinner during the Social Distancing phase of the epidemic. You can see their menu on their website, call ahead, and order. They will bring the food to your car ........... I can recommend the empanadas and mini[-tacos for their...reheatability if you pick them up to eat later, also the chicken mole and habanero. The food is as good as ever, and the service continues to be amazing. You can also get drinks to go ..... Please keep supporting our locally owned restaurants - we want them all to still be in business at the end of this struggle.More

Went to Conroe for a football game. Looked at reviews for Rena’s Mexican food. This restaurant is right across the street from Conroe High School great location to go to moorehead stadium. Now to the food guacamole was nice and fresh a little too much...lime but still good. The homemade salsa was really tasty. They drought out the charro beans had a wonderful flavor I usually pass on the beans but ate every bite of these. I ordered the pork street tacos they brought a Cilento sauce so I loaded up on my first taco. Good but really spicy. We also had the pork enchiladas two was more then enough liked the verda sauce. The desserts looked amazing but had no room. I would definitely go back if in the area or another high school gameMore

This is a smaller restaurant worth seeking out. It is true Mexican food and definitely not fast food. Service is excellent as well. Prices are very reasonable.

We had lunch here for a Sunday afternoon. There were lots of people here, seemed pretty popular with the locals. My wife and I both ordered from the pick two menu, each choosing a chicken enchilada and I chose a tamale for the second item....The food was hot and fresh, served with a side of beans and rice, along with lettuce and tomato. Chips and fresh warm salsa was complimentary. Total bill was $24 including tip.More

I’m a true aficionado of Mexican food. This is partially a result of having been born and raised in Texas and partially a result of my own beanerd heritage. I had read the glowing reviews of Rana’s and showed up with my family and high...expectations. My expectations were not met. Maybe I was wrong to expect so much from an eatery named “Rana’s” (which translates as “Frog’s”). Seems like they could come up with a more appetizing name for their restaurant (even “Magdalena’s Dirty Feet” would be an improvement). The queso we had to start was thin, watery and lacking in zest. The quesadillas were boring and lacking in flavor. The cheese they used tasted like it might be the same brand they use at Chuck E. Cheese! My pollo en mole was dry and chewy. The one bright spot was the Fish Cancún that my son ordered. He thought it was pretty good. But to keep things in perspective, my son is 10 years old. He thinks Cancún is a type of fish and he often puts ketchup on his ketchup. Service was fine and the “hole in the wall” ambience has its appeal, but they must do a lot better with the quality of the food they serve. Bear in mind that most of the reviews of Rana’s are more favorable than mine. Maybe they just had an off day. I might try them again before I write them off.More

A great little Mexican restaurant with cheap, delicious meals. The chimichanga is good, but the mini tacos are by far the best tacos in town. Corn tortilla, beef, cilantro, onion and whatever you do - don't forget to ask for the green sauce. This was...my go-to spot when I worked in that area. My mouth is watering just writing this review. Great value. Chips & salsa, bean soup, mini tacos and a water for $11 last I went. Wait staff is very friendly.More

Back at Rana’s again for a fix of the best Mexican food in the area. This is a little gem, huddled in a strip mall on 105. Don’t expect TexMex, this is real Mexican food and the flavors are light, refreshing, and well balanced. Try...a mix of the antojitos (appetizers) as a change. The empanadas are a long way from the usual meat wrapped in pastry, and delicious. Combine these with a couple of orders of the mini-tacos with different fillings, and you’ve got a beautiful meal. If you haven’t tried Tinga de Pollo (pulled chicken in chipotle tomato sauce) go for it! The rest of the menu is equally well done. Service is excellent, and the house wines good. They have a full bar as well. The owner is passionate about his food, and it shows .......More

I normally don’t care much about Mexican foods since there are not big different whichever you go. But this place is what I liked a lot. Good size of portion, a bit different menu and Frizrn Margaritas are tasty. I will definitely go back!!

The food is amazing. Be sure to try the guacamole. . .excellent. We had the shrimp enchiladas and enchiladas Mexicana. Both were delicious. We met the owner and discussed how the recipes have been handed down from his family. I strongly suggest that you try...Rana's. You will not be disappointed. We just found our favorite restaurant in Conroe!More

We like to try different places and apparently are picky. We rarely like places enough to be “regulars”. This is the exception. The answer is always “yes” here as to what you’d like to have or would like something on the menu adjusted to your...personal preferences. We have shown them drink recipes and asked if they can make it; always YES. Service is excellent, it’s family owned and operated, and the food is excellent. Go here. You’ll be back.More
