Everything was great. We both had the 4 piece catfish plate. I had fries and onion rings and wife had fries and okra. Delicious. Service was attentive and quick. Prices were very reasonable. Both of us had to go boxes and will have another meal...of it today. You'll love it.More

My wife and I, two of our adult sons, a daughter-in-law and an adult grandson were looking for a nearby place to have seafood with our visiting son and his two teenaged daughters. Vernon's filled the bill. We did not have too long to wait...for a large table. We ordered quite a variety, although several had their traditional fried catfish platters. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and there were several "to go" boxes taken home! Great family meal.More

Vernon’s Katfish is all that and a bag of chips! We have been going every week for quite some time and the Katfish is spot on every single time. Hot Fresh NO MUD!

We had dinner here on Sunday January 16th with friends and family in town for our sons wedding. Shrimp and catfish were delicious and the hush puppies were full of flavor. Service was GREAT, the place was clean, restrooms well-stocked. However, I can not comment on my lunch dish. The reason is I had the chicken and dumplings and there was not enough chicken in the entire bowl to form an opinion. It's as if they...opened 3 cans of Campbell's chicken noodle soup and combined all the chicken in those cans then added some dumplings and gravy. the chicken kind of looked like what comes in chicken noodle soup. Very Disappointed. most of the chicken and dumpling dishes that I have eaten over the last 60 years even the ones in restaurants came with shredded chicken dumplings and gravy. I shared my thoughts with my waitress and she revealed to me. that the waitresses let the kitchen know. however little ever changes. so with that being said, I will change. I will either not go back into that restaurant, are try another dish. it was my 1 st time in the place and I have lived in Conroe for three years. now moving on I want to be fair. my side dishes were coleslaw and a garden salad. the best part of my meal was the garden salad it was superb. price would have been fair for my meal had the chicken and dumplings had more chicken.More

Down home cooking at its finest! My dad got a BBQ baked potato, and my step mom and I got burgers- we both got the Jr. burger. Food was very tasty - this is a place I’d definitely eat at again. Lots of locals there-...I can see why!More

We always like to eat at restaurants that we don't have at home and we love catfish so when we saw the name of this restaurant we just had to try it. We were a little tired so we walked in and made an order...to go. The place was busy and people were coming and going. But that didn't stop our order from being done and within 20 minutes we were on our way back to the place we were staying. The catfish was delicious! The fries were good as was the coleslaw. The pinto beans were great, cooked just the way I like them. Tarter sauce was good too. I would definitely eat there again if I should happen to be in the area.More

I bet I haven’t had catfish for 40 years. Coming from out of state I read the reviews and had to go. We ate lunch here and boy was it great. Crunchy tasty catfish on the lunch menu with sides, hush puppies and a drink...for a steal. It was so delicious we came back 2 nights later for dinner. The cobblers were excellent. The place gets super busy, but worth the wait.More
