Great staff, very good food that is plentiful and reasonable. I like the homey and comfortable atmosphere. They serve a large variety of breakfast and lunch items that should satisfy anyone, no matter how picky. I love their coffee because it actually tastes like coffee and not just flavored hot water. My favorite breakfast is eggs over easy, hamburger, breakfast potatoes, toast, and last, but not least, a variety of jellies made just for their restaurant. Apple Butter and Jalapeno are my favorites.

We were looking for a northern style Coney Island that also had omelets and found this place. Large menu, very homey and personal. Our Server #5 did an excellent job. The Western and the Ham & Cheese omelets were fantastic. We will not want any dinner today!

Found this cafe when researching for a visit in 2021, which of course didn't happen due to the pandemic, & so glad I did as we enjoyed our first visit so much we went back twice more during our two weeks with friends in Oak Ridge North. The food is delicious & incredibly good value for money, there's a friendly atmosphere & the staff are just delightful. We had the same waiter (Ivan?) on two occasions & he was just lovely. I mentioned to him we'd returned as promised, not sure he recognised me at first but my accent gave the game away! Had such a nice chat with the owner that I was completely distracted & left my 'to go' salad box on the counter! We had breakfast twice & dinner once & thoroughly enjoyed all three visits, & look forward very much to eating here again on our next visit. Thank you to everyone at this wonderful establishment.

The food is not homemade. Everything is frozen. This is from the staff not just an opinion. Waitress not friendly at our table, but very friendly with the regulars. Very expensive for the poor quality of food. Chicken fry steak was very over done and clearly from a frozen patty. This is definitely a terrible place to eat. You’re welcome.

The service was good. The coffee was pretty bad. Not sure why it tasted like it was burnt or just way too strong. Both my wife and myself got sick about an hour after we ate breakfast. Won't be going back.

The staff here is friendly and helpful! The menu is large, so there is quite a bit to choose from and the prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. Definitely worth a stop!

"ENJOYING SOME GOOD TEXAS EATS with FRIENDS" Yesterday my Lovely Wife cleaned our House and Self-Cleaned the Oven. Self-Cleaning the Oven heats up the Kitchen and in Texas one stays away from the Kitchen when it's Self-Cleaning - It's HOTTT in there. During this time in the late afternoon Andy sent me a text if we could meet them for Dinner at Compadre's Texas Cafe. This is a No-Brainer. I knew that my Wife would want to go out to eat, even tho we do not have this planned - it's a Gimme - and just to make sure, I asked her. But before I could finish she said; "YES". I replied back to Andy and asked what time - and the time was established. We like Compadre's Texas Cafe and have been there a few times. The Vette-Jet was already cleaned up and waiting to go - and so were we - so we went. Arrived on time and Andy and his Wife, Jody, were already inside. We took our seats and one of the Staff came over and asked us what would we like to drink. Water for my Wife and a Diet Coke for me. Andy & Jody were already enjoying their drinks, served in a Huge Jar for Canning - you know you're in Texas when they serve your drink in that. In fact, when you walk into Compadre's Texas Cafe you know you are in Texas from the Decor they have all around the Dinning Area. Longhorns, Texas Stars and Flags all over the place - it's AWESOME - "GOD BLESS TEXAS". While we were chatting, out Server, Ira, came over with Menus. It's been awhile since we saw Andy & Jody so we're not in a hurry to order - we continued our chatting and enjoying our drinks. There is a Lot of Diet Coke in this Jar. After awhile we looked over the Menu and my Wife decided on the "Fajita Taco Salad"; Fried Flour Tortilla stuffed with Fajita Beef (choice), served with Crisp Greens, Tomato & Shredded Cheese with Charro Beans and Rice on the side. I am having the "Country Fried Steak"; Lean Steak Hand Breaded with Crushed Crackers, Fried & Topped with Delicious Creamy Gravy. Choices were Mashed Potatoes with Creamy Gravy and Green Beans. Jody ordered "Chicken Caesar Salad" with Jalapeno Ranch Dressing and Andy ordered "Three Beef Enchiladas" and Double Refried Beans. Ira took our orders and I must say, she is Very Delightful and knows how to take care of Compadre's Customers. There are a good number of Customers here and she is handling it all. While we waited for our food we chatted some more about all kinds of things and also about Food - and we all like Food and good places where Food is served - even as far away as South Padre Island. Anyway, back to our table. Soon our food arrived and let me tell you about that "Chicken Caesar Salad" - I don't know what in there but I do know that thing is HUGE and it looks Delicious. Andy's plate, the Three-Beef Enchiladas are covered in a Gravy-Cheese Sauce with lots of Diced Onions on top. That looks really good and Andy said it was. My Wife Loves Steak in any form on a plate and those Fajita Steak Strips were some Goooood Stuff and seasoned just right. She ate all of it but she did give me the Charro Beans and I can say they were Spiced Up Perfectly with lots of flavor. My Chicken Fried Steak was Thick and Very Tender and a pretty good size. The Creamy Gravy always adds to a CFS and Mashed Potatoes are always a must - also with Creamy Gravy. Green Beans are good for you and these were Very Good. My Wife and I cleaned our plates and Andy took some of his Beef Enchilada home - maybe he will top it off with a Fried Egg in the morning - I know I would. Anyway, we all had a lot of fun chatting last night at Compadre's Texas Cafe. When you want to know what it's like eating the Texas Way, just go to Compadre's Texas Cafe and you will find out. Everything there is Texasliciousness and you will have a hard time deciding what to order. They also have Tastylicious Home Made Desserts and a Country Store where you can pick-up various other Goodies that they make at Compadre's. Check'em out on Facebook and On-Line - it's Home Cookin' the Texas Way. When we were about to leave I noticed Glenn Gaidousek preparing Compadre's for the next days business, went over and introduced myself and we chatted for a little while. Glenn and his Wife, Guinda are always busy making sure their Customers enjoy their meals at Compadre's - and they have lots of Meals for you to choose from - and Desserts. Love You Baby - Bunches & TexasMunches.

"TEXASLICOUSNESS for BREAKFAST" My Wife and I went out for our late morning appointment and she suggested we go out for Brunch at Compadre's Texas Cafe after our appointment - I Totally Agreed. Compadre's serves Breakfast all day so it doesn't matter what time we get there - Breakfast Is Served. The Vette-Jet is ready to go and so are we. Our appointment didn't take very long and we arrived at Compadre's for our late Breakfast. They are pretty busy and their Customers are all 'Social Distanced' apart. We took a table for Two along a wall and Katheryn, our Server, came over with Menus and the necessary supplies you need to eat with. We ordered our drinks, Ice Tea for me and a Water for my Wife. While Katheryn went for our drinks we looked over the Menu. She returned shortly and my Wife ordered their "Compadre's Breakfast Burrito" (3-Items); Eggs, Cheese & Potato. I am having their "Big Texas Breakfast" #2; Half Pound Hamburger Patty Cooked to Order (medium), 3-Eggs (over easy), Hash Browns (choice); Biscuit (choice), with Strawberry Jam and some of their Compadre's Hot Sauce. Our Drinks are served in those Quart Mason Jars and that's Very Impressive - and Very Good - and a Lot. While we waited for our food we looked around at the the Texas DĂ©cor this place has - and it has a Lot - Nicely Done. Soon our Food arrived and my Wife's 'Breakfast Burrito' is HUGE. She opened it up and added some Salsa to it and 'Ate The Whole Thing' - and that is unusual for my Wife to do that. This thing is Big enough for Two Breakfasts for her. It isn't that she was Hungry, she said it tasted so good she couldn't stop eating. I. Love. My. Wife. That's what I do. My 'Big Texas Breakfast' was Nicely Displayed on a Huge Plate. Just by looking at that 1/2 pound patty you know it's Fresh and Delicious. I sprinkled some Hot Sauce & Salsa on the Eggs and enjoyed. They are done the way I like'em - Just Right. I placed one of the Eggs on top of the Half Pound Hamburger Patty just because I like Fried Eggs on my Hamburgers. Having it this way is Delicious, the Patty is Fresh & Tasty. When I have Breakfast Out I always try to get Hash Browns because it says "Breakfast" all over it - and these Hash Browns are Perfectly Prepared - and a Little Golden Crunch in every bite. Now for that Biscuit - this is also HUGE, Crumbly Fresh and delicious as is. I added Butter and the Strawberry Jam and this is Homemade Biscuitliciousness. Having a Late Breakfast at Compadre's Texas Cafe was a Great Idea. Everything we had was Texasliciouslyliciousness because that's what you get when you eat at Compadre's Texas Cafe. Check'em out on Facebook and On-Line - Ya Gonna Luv whatever you order because Everything they have is Texasliciousness. Also Check out their Country Store - they have Homemade Pies, Gourmet Jams - Jellies - Spices - Pepper Sauces - Relish - Lots to choose from. The serve Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Katheryn earned the Dollar-Bow-Tie Award and Loved it. All the Staff at Compadre's Texas Cafe were really busy with all their Customers providing for them with what they do here - Only the Best of Everything. After we ate my Baby and I cruised on home in the Vette-Jet on another Beautiful Texas Day. Thank You Baby for choosing Compadre's Texas Cafe - Love You Bunches & Compadre'sMunches.

The food and service are both very good. It's located in an area that is mostly commercial, so if you're not paying attention you'll drive right by it. I will go here again for sure.

After an Early Morning Doctors Appointment my Wife had we stopped in for Breakfast at Compadres Texas Cafe. Normally my Lovely Wife is just having her Normal Early Morning Coffee at this time and the Doctors appointment is long done ... My Wife is a Trooper and we are celebrating this 'Early Morning Accomplishment' ... Love You Baby. We arrived in time for Breakfast because they server Breakfast until they close ... When you walk in you know you're in Texas, the Best State Ever, due to the Wall Decorations ... I Love this place already. It's a Seat Yourself type of place and we chose a table along a wall. Katheryn is our Server and she took our drink orders while we looked over their Menu. Coffee for me and Water for my Wife (i think she thinks she's still sleeping). While you're looking over the Menu you can hear and smell the Aroma coming from the Kitchen ... and I Love that. Katheryn brought out our drinks and we ordered. My Wife is having the 'Compadres Breakfast Burrito' (choice of 3); Egg, Cheese & Potato). I am going with #G, "Griddle Platter"; Choice of French Toast or Belgium Waffle and two eggs, bacon or sausage. Choose French Toast & Bacon. I've not had French Toast in a very long time. While we waited for our food I enjoyed my Coffee. I didn't get enough Coffee at home before we left for the appointment and I am really enjoying this cup ... which is the same Coffee Cups we have at home. I Love this place. We could also hear 'Sizzling' coming from the Kitchen like someone ordered a Steak ... sure does smell good. It wasn't long before our food arrived and my Wife's 'Breakfast Burrito' is Huge. She opened it up and it looks Delicious. She added her Salsa to it began enjoying a lot of Tastyliciousness ... and she said it is the Best Breakfast Burrito she has had ... Ever ... and my Wife Loves Breakfast Burritos with Egg, Cheese & Potato. She said it was also Seasoned Perfectly and the Salsa added even more Deliciousness to this Huge Burrito. I Loved my French Toast with lots of Butter (and they give you lots) and their Syrup ... They make French Toast right with a lot of Egg. The Over Easy Eggs were Perfect and Bacon is always good stuff because it's Bacon and I Love Bacon. When we finished I enjoyed a second cup of Coffee and now I'm ready for the day. We enjoyed Compadres Texas Cafe and I know you will also when you go for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Check'em out on-line and on Facebook: Compadre's Texas Cafe ... They also have Pies that look Amazinglylicious ... must try those some other visit. Katheryn earned the Dollar-Bow-Tie Award for being Attentive, Texas Courteous, Funny and great to talk to. Now to return home with my Baby and enjoy another Beautiful Texas Day. Love You Baby, Bunches & Munches.

Plenty to share. Friendly service who went above and beyond to keep a large party with kids happy. Drinks refilled before going empty, portions split when asked. Breakfast burrito can be customized. Everyone enjoyed their food.

We met my daughter and her family there because they go there a lot and we were impressed. For my husband to say "we need to go back there again" is a huge compliment.

Food was good but not excellent. Portions were a little small, but the seniors with the group liked that. Used margarine instead of butter. Big problem with the flavor. Staff was excellent. Cafe was very clean. Coffee was excellent. I would go again just to try something different. The bacon and eggs looked very good. My aunt said the pancakes are very good.

Have been for dinner a couple times, went for breakfast on July 8. Delicious food, very generous serving sizes, excellent service. And by eating here, you're helping a Veteran --- the owner served in the US Army.

Still impressed by this place. Super fast and friendly service. Great menu with lots of breakfast and dinner classics. The pancakes are perfect and so are the eggs. What more do you need? I am slowly working my way through the pie list and have not been disappointed once. Even went nuts and got a couple coconut macaroon cookies. They were not long for this world, I ate one of them driving home. Ask for Rachel - she's the classic diner waitress, and every item she suggests tastes out of this world.
