I stopped here while traveling through College Station and was disappointed. They were out of about half the menu. They are expensive, too, especially for an order at the counter taco place. The guy working there was rude and the food was very, very slow...to come out, to the point we considered leaving after waiting for quite some time. The sauces were good, though.More

Been wanting to try Taco Bar for a while and finally dropped in to check it out. Looks are deceiving here folks as the place is tucked away at the back of a strip mall. The trees in front almost make it invisible from the...main drag. Upon entry there is the dining room and, what else, a taco bar. The menu is simple with some specialty tacos on one side and the choose your own ingredients tacos on the back. My wife had a pork speciality taco and I had two tacos where I chose the ingredients (pork and chicken). Those tacos had mucho meat and toppings.....they were monsters. The meat was so tender and tasty......yum! We saw them making a burrito for the next customer.....that sucker would feed three people! Needless to say, we will be going back to get more of their fabulous food. This should be a franchise store as it would do very well. This simple concept of handmade street tacos would blow away all the competition. My mouth is watering just thinking about those tacos so I'm going back over there now and have some more. Muy Bueno!More

Good food. I only do drive through so I can't talk about atmosphere.. Get fresh tacos. I'm a fan of the barbacoa.

The worker was nice and even gave a sample of a dish. Cheap eats. They overfill the tortillas. They use the Mexican hot sauce in several of their entrees and I'm not a fan of that taste; however, my husband loved their dishes - Conchinita...Pibil and shredded chicken. We both thought the rajas con queso would be more flavorful, but haven't had it before. The refried beans were probably equal parts of beans to lard. The charro beans were good, but too spicy for this heat whimp.More

Someone should tell them that preparing food in latex gloves then going around straightening up chairs and cleaning up the dining area, then going back to preparing tacos in the same latex gloves defeats the purpose of wearing the gloves completely. The lack of appropriate...use of latex gloves plus the fact that they charged me for avocados I never received equals not returning to this restaurant for me.More

The food is very hot and fresh. The shredded chicken and the ground beef tacos are top notch. Good queso and chips and some of the best refried beans I have ever had. Ordering the plate version is a good deal. The staff are friendly....This is the first place I have tried in this town that is actually good.More

We had heard good reviews about this place so we thought we'd try it. It could definitely be classified as a "hole in the wall" (a nice one!). Tacos are the menu, and they are good! I had the Cochinita Pibil (pulled pork) and beef...fajita, both were fabulous. The Cochinita Pibil is probably some of the best i've had in awhile! Others at the table had the Barbacoa and Rajas con Queso, which they said was wonderful and would definitely get again! They stuff the tacos with a ton of meat and the prices are pretty good, so you get what you pay for and then some. They have 2 sauces, a green sauce (SPICY) and a red sauce (Mild with a kick) both have great taste and if you like spice go for the green one!! Everything appears to be made fresh in house and the service was very attentive and helpful in answering all of our questions. If you're looking for good tacos, a great local place, and somewhere to stretch your dollar, try this place out!More
