I love the chopped beef sandwich here and the chicken fried steak is delicious too! The kids always ask to stop here on road trips and we are happy to oblige!

terrible service; terrible food; long wait; there is nothing positive that I can say. The Deli and Bakery next door is much better even though more pricey

This is an old fashion, old town diner. Uses oil linen tablecloths (red/white checkerboard). Has about 15 tables. Ceilings have water stain and bathroom needs lots of work but the hospitality and feel of old town is very good. Remember this is old town restaurant; if you are in a hurry - go somewhere else. The breakfast was very good... More

Had an amazing breakfast at this quaint restaurant on Hwy 290 in Chappell Hill, TX. The service was great, the welcome warm, and the food was out of this world! Give them a try next time you are heading west on 290 between Houston and Austin!

Plenty of tables and fast service...the BBQ smells will tell you it's great food. The kolaches are good (not as good as the ones in La Grange) and the cinnamon rolls are yummy. Their potato salad (even with onions in them) are good too.

This is a restaurant I chose as a meeting place for friends coming from Houston. The restaurant is run down and attention needs to be given to cleanliness. It is very dark. Restrooms were dirty. No paper towels to dry hands. We ordered the lunch special which was hamburger steak. The meat was poor quality, instant gravy, watered Dow instant... More

The Chappell Hill Café was recommended by the bed and breakfast we stayed at and they were spot on. Diners were a interesting mix of local community regulars and travelers driving on 290. We ate breakfast there three times and I had different combinations of the country breakfast (two eggs, meat of choice, toast or biscuit, hash browns or grits).... More

Not only a great diner, but a great sausage maker with a singular family recipe. Go for a meal and buy some sausage to take home.

Best source of venison sausage ever. Their prices are cheaper than the Chappell Hill Bakery/Deli. When we arrived for lunch last Friday, we say the local sheriff and his 2 deputies taking a bite out of their ribs. We simply asked the waitress to give us "everything they had" and sat down to a Chappel Hill Dining Experience.
