The burgers are really really good!

We stopped here for lunch after a hard morning hike & thoroughly enjoyed our burgers & fries. So fresh! Then came back later for ice cream and souvenirs. From the road it doesn't look like much, but it was actually worth a stop. Too bad flies are such an annoying problem everywhere in this canyon or we would have sat outside.

Loved this little place.

We did not eat here but came daily to get ice and all the things you forget when camping. Very close to Sagewood Camp Ground and I was glad. Lots of cute nick snacks and they even had an extension cord when I forgot mine.

Lunch with a view

Had lunch here on a warm day in November so we were able to grab a table outside. Terrific burger! Lunch with a view! Yes, there are a few pesky flies but it’s part of being in nature. Large selection of t-shirts and souvenirs. Great stop!

Poor service. Customer service not up to standards.

My cousin and I were at Palo Duro for two days of hiking. We enjoyed every aspect of the park, facilities and workers except the Trading Post. 1. The hours were limited. 2. The staff was somewhere between dead-eyed dispassionate and outright rude. Maybe they were unhappy with each other, but they were not pleasant at all. 3. Coffee wasn't available all day. They have a weird policy of not allowing you to handle the coffee cups without permission.

Delicious and friendly

Great burgers and really good onion rings. Staff is friendly too. Also enjoyed ice cream. We have had steak sandwich which was good too. Nice toasted buns make the difference

Neat gifts & good food

Stop in the first time during lunch to grab a couple of t-shirts since our daughter brought nice shirts instead of hiking shirts. It was packed with people grabbing lunch. Went back the next day during the late morning after an early hike. Wasn’t as crowded. We ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches that were delicious. Hubby said best sausage he’s ever had. Nice stop for a bite to eat or gifts.

Not just a trading post

We had the pleasure of checking in to our glampsite at the trading post. From the word go, they were the nicest people. Our stay at the glampsite was wonderful and the breakfast the next morning was huge! Just what hikers need. If all the other food is as good I want to go back! Fun gift section too.

Good for a meal & stocking up on supplies

Several people told us to go there and have the cheeseburger for lunch. We enjoyed the cheeseburger & fries! The general store had a wide variety of goods that the average camper and visitor would need. They also had a good supply of gifts and clothing.

Good spot for the weary traveler to recharge a bit.

Drove in straight from Dallas, stopped at the trading post and had some burgers. Delish!! Priced fairly. Lots of cute trinkets. Fully stocked for camping, glamping needs. Definitely a good place to stop at.

Great Shop

The post is in the Palo Duro State Park. We went for the souvenirs and great place! We did not have time to try the food, but will upon our return. Everyone was friendly and lots of items to choose from. A bit pricey, but expected and no problem in that area!

Outrageously wonderful!

Never thought I would review a lunch spot in a state park, but it was just so good! Best cheeseburgers and fries!!! Staff was always so friendly. We had eaten here last year and really enjoyed the food. It was wonderful to see that it was still outstanding! Very casual and comfortable.

Clean Restrooms!

I'm appreciative of the clean restrooms. The Portable Potties outside in the park were totally nasty. Restaurant food is basic, a small selection of grocery items, and a gigantic souvenir shop.

We only stopped for coffee, but we’re blown away by the friendly service and excellent appearance of everything. The veggies on the hamburger dressing bar could not have been more fresh and appealing. Great coffee too.

Don’t miss this stop in Palo Duro Canyon!

Best burger around. We caught them right before they closed and it was still delicious. Sat on the picnic table outside and then went to watch the sunset in the canyon!
