Excellent French food in a rural setting

We went with a group of 8 on a rainy day in Burton. The Cassoulet was perfect on a cold rainy day as were the pork medallions. Very reasonable wine list and great service. If you are passing by Burton on 290 it is well worth the five minute detour. Andre the chef is just excellent. Do... read more

This was a great find. This is a great French restaurant in a small town. We had the pate appetizer and our friends had the lentil soup. YUM. Most of us had the Cassoulet with duck and sausage. It was wonderful. 2 of our group of 8 had the Pork Medallions and they loved them. The chocolate mousse was good.... More

A group of about twenty went to this restaurant during Texas Antiques Week, and we all enjoyed our meal! A nice change from the typical bbq and Mexican fare that we had for ten days. Decent wine selection, and nicely prepared French dinner selections. We'll go back in the Spring!

This place is a little out of the way, and you must plan for the visit (cash or check only, very often closed). However, for those who persevere and plan, you will be richly rewarded. Andre makes EVERYTHING from scratch with a very unique Texas-French cuisine combo. The decor is Texas country, not upscale, but homey and quiet. You are... More

I chose the Brazos Belle for our anniversary dinner because I wanted something other than one of the typical Tex-Mex or BBQ places in the Brenham area. The result was an excellent meal in a quaint restaurant. With a little imagination, the food, the ambience (wooden floors, fresh baked bread) and the service could transport one to the French countryside.... More

I was with a group of 30, and the dinner was pre-arranged. I'd requested steak (med rare) and shrimp, and that's just what I got. Dinner: The steak was VERY tender and nicely seasoned; the shrimp was nicely seasoned as well; vegetables were crisp tender; bread was very good (no preservatives). (Huge loaves of bread are available for purchase.) The... More

It's amazing to have such an outstanding restaurant in a town of only 300! The atmosphere is relaxing; a combination of Country French and casual Texas. Service was excellent. I enjoyed the pate and the Rack of Lamb, along with an excellent cup of coffee and a wonderful chocolate mousse for dessert. their website: http://www.brazosbellerestaurant.com we also purchased a lovely... WORST Easter Dinner EVER!!! Service was bad steak was charcoal outside raw inside, (ordered medium-well) Husband went to discreetly discuss with waitress she comes over to the table and tells the rest of our party all about how "she feels so bad and we should have told her and now my husband is having a heart attack over the bill"... We've dined here often and last night's dinner was possibly the best ever. The place s in the middle of Burton, Tx . We were part of a group of eight and everyone was very happy. I had the rack of lamb and it was as good as I've ever had. A number of our group had the mixed grill... More
