Have been there a few times. The food is home made by Helen. It is good and priced well. A small loyal local following. It is a family restaurant with indoor seating. Parking is right out front. Nice quiet restaurant for couples or families.

I am sure they have fairly good lunch food. It certainly seems popular with the Buda downtown crowd and lots of groups meet here. I mainly come in for the breakfast tacos since they have a decent price of under $2 for a two item taco. I usually get it to go and take it back home or eat it... More

Arriving late one sunday morning the place was packed. The low ceilings and subdued lighting doesnt do the place justice. I asked for a cup of tea with some milk and got a glass of milk! The idea of eating a meal with cow juice isnt something that I have tried in public before but I gave it go and... More

We always try to find little independents and skip the chains. Made a great choice today. Both omelettes were delicious. Food came out quickly and it was served with a smile. Great way to start the day!

Homemade flour tortillas stuffed to the brim with fresh hot ingredients. The "fatty" breakfast taco is the favorite with our family. It is a weekend tradition in this household.

Wanted to try this place out because we have noticed it usually had a long line of people waiting to get in during the mornings. Well we got in one day- after waiting 30 minutes. Even though we sat practically in the middle of the restaurant it was hard to get someone to get us coffee. The order took an... More

Do not go to this restaurant! The food might be ok but I did not have the opportunity to try it. After waiting close to an hour for our table of 4 to receive breakfast food our order was finally delivered incomplete. When I approached the manager about the incomplete food he repeatedly asked us to leave. I did not... More

Having eaten at Helen's Casa Alde scores of times I have only ordered breakfast there, never lunch. The menu is pretty typical Mexican fare with eggs, refried beans, tortillas, etc. What Casa Alde does that stands out is a particular breakfast taco called the Fattie. Wrapped into a home made tortilla (another reason to frequent their establishment) you'll find eggs,... More

I picked the place because I was hungry and it was close. What a great find. The service was friendly and the Mexican plate lunch special , consisting of a cheese enchilada, crispy beef taco, rice and beans, was excellent. The taco was crispy to the last bite and the meat very well seasoned. The cheese enchilada was perfect.

Have only had breakfast tacos here. Our favorite is "The Fatty" and their verde sauce. Usually call ahead and pick up on way out of town.
