On July 9th, Shannon's opened their new restaurant next door to the original cafe. It is upscale now and the food remains good as always. If you like Soul Food/Country cooking, this is a wonderful place to eat. I ate at the old cafe for lots of years. The new place is quite clean, the service is good, and food... More

Love this place! Greens, beans, fried chicken, beef tips over rice, steamed chicken, and hamburger steak are outstanding. All of their food takes me back home in my mind. The employees/owners are ever so friendly, too! Save room for their delicious peach cobbler. Also try their mini sweet potato pies made by Grandma, and you'll swoon for more! I would... More

Great home cooked food, service was good, and family owned and operated! Yes you can tell! Reminds me of my grandmas cooking and everyone should love that! Fried pork chops, cabbage, black eyed peas, meatloaf, mashed taters and cornbread DELICIOUS! Food so good you'll wanna slap yo Momma! (But don't slap yo Momma cause she will slap ya back! Lol)

I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious variety of foods. The hamburger steak and gravy was exceptional. The service was great too. Family owned, family run. Very good food.

Don't go here if you have a slow pitch softball game that night. You will still be full. You get plenty of good food at a decent price.

Shannon's Cafe and Catering serves good "down home" food that will "stick to your ribs." While the lunch servings are limited to a few items, the food is delicious the service is friendly. The folks at Shannon's provide a good service to the Bryan-College Station area. Give this place a try, you will like it. It's not fancy, but you... More

When I was young, my mother hired a Creole woman from Lafayette, LA who did nothing but cook one day/week for the 7 hungry people in the household. It was heavenly food. The Shannon's offerings remind me of that type of cooking. It is definitely possible to have a non-greasy meal here, so don't let the stereotypes of certain types... More

This is the kind of stuff my grandma made. Nothing lean, nothing light just good down home southern food. Try the cornbread. Yummy.

Can't say enough about how wonderful the food is here. Very small menu/selection but all done to perfection. We've been twice. The oxtail isn't to be missed (though I believe it's only served on Mondays) Best greens I've ever eaten! And when we were there on day before Thanksgiving we decided that their fried turkeys must be amazing also as... More
