How hard can it be to properly clean tables in a gastropub so the guests' elbows, arms and fingers don't stick to and peel off the table??!?! This was my big gripe at a place that otherwise offered quite high quality food in a very...More

The restaurant itself is wonderfully decorated ain a tasteful nod to its centuries old history. I was hosting a business lunch with a visitor from outside the UK. We both ordered the locally sourced, 28-day aged steak. At £28 per head I was expecting excellence...More

A charming pub based inn. We stayed in a funky room, number 6, that was up a challenging set of stairs. Great staff willing to help carry the luggage. Complete breakfast included. A nice find in a rural neighborhood. You will enjoy your stay.

I don't think this review is for us - we are not a hotel and don't have rooms. IF you could remove, it would be very helpful. Thanks!

Description
A mere seven miles from the centre of Oxford, in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and restaurant. It is a stunning former chantry house dating back to the 15th century, boasting many original features. With soaring eaves in the Great Hall and Minstrel's Gallery, a roaring log fire in winter and pretty terrace bursting with flowers and aromatic herbs in summer, The White Hart is not only cosily beautiful but offers a warm, village welcome too. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen grows much of the restaurant's fruit and vegetables in a large kitchen garden and also sources food from the very best local suppliers. Even bread, pasta and ice cream is homemade fresh on site. Frequently changing, the menus rely purely on what is fresh and available, ensuring food which delivers on every level. No wonder they hold 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence!
