We have been wanting to visit the Little Gretel Restaurant and the Ewe and Eye toy shop that's next door for awhile. Finally had the time for an outing so we stopped in for lunch. Perfect location, directly across from the river. Outside patio seating allows for nice views of the ducks swimming down the river and all the tourist... More

Very friendly and inviting Czech/German restaurant. Good cold beer. Complimentary bread and butter was ok. We ordered the Hungarian Goulash (special that night), Jaeger Schnitzel and Sauerbraten with bread dumplings. We shared a plum kolach for desert. iAll very good, but not the best I've had...plus it was probably the priciest by far. German restaurants in Lampasas and Fredericksburg are... More

I just got back from Prague and was craving Pilsner Urquell on draft and did a quick search and found out Little Gretel had my beer! I got my beer and decided that I needed to eat dinner too and it was so delicious. Best I had..even over in Europe! EVERYONE was so friendly there, it was like I had... More

Great Czech and German food. Had a wonderful meal at Little Gretel. Wherever we go we prefer restaurants owned and operated by a single owner i.e. we avoid chain restaurants. Little Gretel was a wonderful experience. All the dishes we had were excellent. Service was very personable and efficient. Had the apple strudel for dessert which is made that day... More

This place is excellent. Sunday after church. We love the waffles for our kids. We love the bagels and lox and eggs benedict. The Kolaches are out of this world homemade.

Came here after seeing this restaurant featured on a travel channel and wanted to try the kolaches. We were disappointed in that they were expensive and not fresh. Having had some great kolaches being from a Czech heritage and baking them myself and having tried a few places that make great ones I am having a difficult time trying to... More

Really great food! Loved the german potatoe salad. Apple Strudel was really awesome. Very unique place, and wished I lived closer.

We had high expectations but the service was horrific. This place hypes it's self up but doesn't deliver.

We very much enjoyed a recent dinner with six family members. The restaurant is refined, but relaxed, with great food. Appetizers were very good, especially the escargot and lobster bisque. For main course the schnitzel was great, as were the pork chops, and the hamburger, which is rated as one of the best in Texas. Wine list and beer selection... More

Good food, but this was seriously the worst and slowest service ever! We stopped in here for a quick lunch, and this meal was anything but quick. The waiter was initially slow to take our order. Then after we had finished eating, he totally forgot about us. Another waitress cleared our plates and she actually told him we were waiting... More
