This reminds me of a throwback type of place. You go through a buffet-style line to get what you want, yet there are things you still have to wait for a waitress to bring you after the fact (including free homemade ice cream for dessert which is cool if you like dessert!). BBQ mostly good but I have had some... More

Average food. The brisket is bland. You have a choice of brisket chicken ham sausage. Then you can add three sides. The sides are runny potatoes salad, macaroni salad, red beans or green beans corn on cob or sweet carrots. Not a great selection . Food is bland

I had sliced brisket and rib combo with potato salad, green beans and banana puddin. Meat had no flavor and was tough! If it wasn't for the mediocre BBQ sauce I couldn't have choked it down. Potato salad was was blended and had a Wang to it, green beans were decent. After tasting the banana puddin I remembered how my... More

Sliced beef sandwich had very little flavor. Sides did not look appealing. The price of a sandwich and a piece of pie as my one “side” was over $13. That's ridiculous. The pie was good, but it appeared it was purchased from a third-party.

Stopped on our way home for some barbecue. A little way off the highway but worth the drive. I got the rib basket for $14.99. It came with Texas toast and a side. Could have fed two people in my opinion. Ribs fell of the bone-very tasty. Ordered a banana pudding just because I'm a banana pudding junky. It hit... More

We stopped here on our way back from Colorado to Rosenberg for a quick bite to eat. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and the ribs were mouth watering, to die for! Definitely will stop here again.

At 10.99 for a half pound of sliced brisket Al's is more expensive than the world renowned Franklin's in Austin. Hard to see anyone in Big Spring standing in line for this near tasteless treat. Ribs were very good however. 33 bucks for a two meat plate and a sandwich.

What else do you need to know? Had the pulled pork sandwich with side of some creamy potato salad and both were very good. You order "cafe style" so all the food is visible and you can pick and choose based on your likes and their presentation style. Very friendly staff and good location only a mile or so from... More

I can't imagine anyone that does not like Al's. It is, without any doubt, my favorite place to eat in Big Spring, TX. Country cooking (like I grew up on) at its finest. It is just a little more expensive, but worth every penny.

Al's offers the best BBQ in Texas. Their mouth watering brisket, ribs, sausage. Ham. Chicken, and even hamburgers are delicious. While Al's is a little pricey it's worth every penny. Don't pass thru Big Spring without trying Al's.
