Some locals recommended this place, so we gave it a try. The food was average, although my wife thought the quail was good. There was no actual service to speak of, and the ambiance is a parody of the stereotypical BBQ place. I was just not impressed. Try it if you aren't persnickety like me.

This place is okay, but there is much better BBQ around. There was nothing memorable about the food and the service was okay but didn't stand out. The atmosphere is boilerplate BBQ restaurant and there is lots of standing in line while take-out orders are being prepared. I would strongly suggest a separate location for take-out. We went during the... More

Schoepf's has been around a long time in Belton, and is a big hangout for locals and Fort Hood Soldiers. The BBQ is not bad, but there is another place in town that is much better. That said, Shoepf's does have a great atmosphere with plenty of room inside. If I were planning an event or gathering, I would choose... More

I was very interested in trying Schoepf 's because it was feature on the PBS show The Daytripper. I went for a group function and was not impressed with what I had. Probably will not be coming back in the future. Rudy's is of equal quality.

Someone at our hotel in Austin recommended this restaurant and it turned out to be a winner. It's slightly off I-35 in Belton, TX. The fatty beef brisket melts in your mouth. We came late in the day so the corn bread was a little dry but the rest of the meal was superb.

Great second generation Bbq and fantastic outdoor dining/concert venue too. I personally love the sirloin and quail offered. Good stuff. Whenever family is in town we head to Schoepf's

Schoepf's has very good bbq. The pork chop is a must. Their jalapeno cheese sausage is excellent. Their quail and armadillo eggs are also excellent. They have great sides, including green beans and pinto beans. The only average menu item is their brisket, which is generally my favorite bbq item but at Schoepf's is dry and somewhat flavorless. Check their... More

We usually stop by here a couple of times a month. The food is always great and the staff is always friendly. They serve nice portions and service is usually quick.

Starving on I-35 N heading back to Moore,OK was very good. We all got the combo with 2 meats and 2 sides. Turkey was juicy and the brisket. Wished the sauce was spicier. Overall price for 4 was $50.

First trip - Surly counter help unapologetically insulted members of group while we ordered. What's up with that?! Second trip - Employee denied our dog a bowl of water, though we were going to eat outside and it was 100+ degrees. With so many other great barbecue restaurants in the area, we'll stick with ones that put customer service first.
