Visited with family again a few days ago, always have a pleasant experience. Best bbq in the central Texas area hands down. The chicken & scalloped buttered potatoes are my favorite. Great Cole slaw. Excellent home made pies and desserts. Great iced tea. They also have live concerts and events.

We stopped by this gem on the advice of a local. We were treated to outstanding pit style barbeque. The gentleman that served out cuts of meat looked like a real Texas cowboy!!!! Everything from the tender meats to the tasty sides were fantastic. Great ambience as well. Definitely worth a stop!!

So I've been hearing about this place for ever from a friend of mine. We stopped by a few years ago to try them but they were out of ribs! Fortunately, today the were ready for us and had plenty of everything! I had 1.5lbs of ribs, Cole slaw and their amazing green beans!!! The ribs had a nice dry... More

This place has a history as old as Texas... Well almost... Pork ribs, all the sausages and the sausage jalepeno bacon wraps are unbelievable! Tried the cucumber salad only cuz the staff said it is awesome, and they didn't lie... First I'm not a fan of cucumbers but it was great along with all the bbq!!! I will make it... More

Great friendly staff. Restaurant was impeccably clean. The food is about average, though I will point out that the meat is very tender and the vegetables were property cooked.

Some locals recommended this place, so we gave it a try. The food was average, although my wife thought the quail was good. There was no actual service to speak of, and the ambiance is a parody of the stereotypical BBQ place. I was just not impressed. Try it if you aren't persnickety like me.

This place is okay, but there is much better BBQ around. There was nothing memorable about the food and the service was okay but didn't stand out. The atmosphere is boilerplate BBQ restaurant and there is lots of standing in line while take-out orders are being prepared. I would strongly suggest a separate location for take-out. We went during the... More

Schoepf's has been around a long time in Belton, and is a big hangout for locals and Fort Hood Soldiers. The BBQ is not bad, but there is another place in town that is much better. That said, Shoepf's does have a great atmosphere with plenty of room inside. If I were planning an event or gathering, I would choose... More

I was very interested in trying Schoepf 's because it was feature on the PBS show The Daytripper. I went for a group function and was not impressed with what I had. Probably will not be coming back in the future. Rudy's is of equal quality.

Thank James D
