Lunch today on their outside deck was great. Service was very good and our server (Monica) checked on us frequently. We both had the Ahi Tuna (my wife the salad and me the entre) The tuna was a good medium rare and tasty. My baked...potato was served cold and I think it was a "leftover" from last night's dinner service. It was replace with an order of some of the best home made onion rings I have had. We will be back, probably on Saturday for their prime rib special. BObKMore

I have been a resident of Bandera County for 33 years. I own 2 guest houses and offer restaurant suggestions to my guests. Sadly, I will have to remove TJ's from that list. My friend and I eat lunch there regularly, about every 3 weeks....We've always enjoyed the food and the service...until yesterday. When we received our receipt the bartender, Kathy, had overcharged our drinks. She charged us for doubles when we ordered single bar vodka. When we brought it to her attention she went and looked in the computer, turned and told us that we had ordered Tito's which was a bold faced lie. I am not one to make a scene. I paid the bill but I will never go back there again and I will be sure that my guests are aware. If there is one thing God hates it is unjust balances. It's really sad that anyone would do this just for an extra dollar. My friend and I are very good tippers, even with the knowledge of being cheated we still tipped a full 20%.More

Tried TJs for the first time& we’ll definitely be back. Friday night fish fry (all you can eat) was delish & ribeye dinner a killer. Roasted Brussels sprouts were yummy.Great atmosphere & diverse menu—and such friendly folks. A wonderful experience.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options and the food is excellent. You can get the typical ‘Texas’ dishes and healthy meal options. I had the tuna steak and it was grilled to perfection. They are now offering a key lime martini that...is to die for! Definitely a great restaurant option in Bandera.More

Comfy Texas style surroundings - nice menu variety. Great salad bar and food was tasty. Steaks were a bit over cooked for med rare and not the best cut for the price paid - had 10oz Maverick Ribeye. Crab cakes were pretty good. Sweet potato...fries were very good. Waitress was a bit new or distracted - how to wait for drinks to be refilled. Seems to be a good place for locals to eat big and enjoy themselves. Would go back! Be sure to park in back for easy access.More

We arrive at 1215p for lunch and waited 10 minutes for an inside table. Ashley was our friendly server. I took a look at the small salad bar, but it was just the normal salad bar stuff, so opted for the lunch special, Red, White...and Bleu Burger with fries and tea for $10.99. Tasty hamburger. I would certainly order another. Blackboard sign and menu displayed two specials of the day and price. Other was beer batter fish. We also noted another blackboard with daily specials, so we are planning to return for the prime rib on Saturday! Hubby ordered the chicken fried steak with 2 sides, okra and onion rings. He declared the CFS was one of the better ones he had eaten. Our food was served fairly quickly. Ashley presented our bill and we noticed the burger price increased to $12.99 and tea was an additional charge, so we asked about the price increase in a matter of less than an hour. She acted surprised, but said she would see why the price increased and she promptly returned with a corrected bill reflecting the blackboard price.More

Arrived in town and needed to get a lunch so a short walk from the hotel was TJ’S @ the Forge. It was 2 in the afternoon and the place still had many late day dinners. We were promptly seated. We decided to have the...chicken stuffed Avocado. It was delicious. It was a very quaint location, will love to go back.More

TJ's at the Old Forge was recommended to us by the staff where we were staying for the weekend. We are so glad they sent us there. The first night we had Lemon Caper Penne Pasta and Linguini Alfredo with chicken added. Both were delicious....We had enough left over to take back to our hotel for lunch the next day. The evening of the second night, we shared an order of meatloaf.... again very tasty. I read where someone mentioned the level of noise. The first night, the place was packed and very noisy! The second evening we were there before it begin to fill up and the noise level was fine. I recommend making reservations. They are not necessary but will save you a long wait. It is certainly on our list when we return to Bandera.More
