Absolutely Delicious!!!!! We all ordered the Monday night special:
2 Pork Chops
Side Salad with HOMEMADE Ranch dressing
and a cornbread muffin
COOKED TO PERFECTION!
Dinner was so good I had to try a piece of HOMEMADE PIE.
I ordered the...Pecan Pie. The waitress warmed it just right! OH SO GOOD!!!!
Mom ordered the HOMEMADE Buttermilk Pie. And it brought back those good old school days for her.
I had a bite for the first time. I will say it would pair really well with a cup of good coffee. Delicious!
Dad had a nice warm piece of HOMEMADE Apple pie. Nothing more American then this slice of warm apple pie. Not a crumb left on the plate.
The waitress was excellent!
If in Bandara you MUST stop and have a bite at the OST Restaurant.More
OST is well worth visiting. The decor is fun, whimsical and eclectic. Unluckily when we visited some of the areas of the restaurant were closed off due to COVID restrictions including the salad bar. The decorations are a little tired but it is still interesting....Food is excellent. I had the chicken fried steak and it was thin, crisp and tasty. Service was good but not outstanding as they seemed to forget about us for a while. Good, fun place in Bandera.More
We heard this was the best restaurant in town so we gave it a try. While it wasn't the best food we've ever had it was pretty good. The gravy on the chicken fried steak had an awesome flavor! And the steak itself was amazing......Our waitress was a bit busy so not as attentive as we would have liked (we ran out of tea a few times) but she was super nice and made suggestions from the menu. Overall the food was good, the prices weren't too high, and the atmosphere was laid back. I'd eat here again for sure.More
Went to this restaurant for the first time last week. The food was really great. The prices were very reasonable. And the wait staff super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again and bring guests.
We went to this restaurant yesterday and very much enjoyed it. Nothing indicated that they had any kind of restricted hours. So we went for dinner tonight and there was a hand written sign saying they would be closed at two on Tuesday and Wednesday...due to not being able to hire help. We have talked to employees in this area and they are sharing two bedroom rentals with three people and barely making it. Maybe pay people a living wage! We have always enjoyed visiting here...going to the hotels, restaurants, RV parks and golf courses. But we will not support a town that uses politics to keep from paying workers a decent wage.More
This is located really close to Hwy. 16 and Main St. intersection in downtown Bandera. OST stands for Old Spanish Trail.
We had not been here in many years and made a trip over to have lunch on a Saturday.
It was really busy so...had a short wait list with bench seating outside on the covered sidewalk area.
There was a lot of traffic and tourists milling around.
We were seating in a booth, they also have table seating, and the place was full but they had good staff moving things along.
The décor is rustic and this place has been there for some time but it goes with the western vibe of the small town.
Our waitress quickly brought menus and took our drink orders and returned with them quickly as well.
The menu is a large one with a good selection of food including Tex-Mex, steaks, chicken, salads, sandwiches, burgers etc.)
We ordered their enchiladas which again there is a variety of sizes to choose from.
One was a one cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans ($6.95) and the other was a three cheese enchilada plate with no rice and beans ($8.75).
The enchiladas were topped with chili and all was delicious and hearty portions.
They served chips and salsa along with it and the chips were fresh and warm and the salsa just right.
This is a popular place and customers were constantly arriving the entire time we were there but the wait was not bad right at noon.
The staff was friendly and efficient.
If you visit Bandera and want a local staple, this is IT!More

I read somewhere that they are open 6 am to 9 pm which makes sense as they do serve breakfast and we have been in there at night around 7 and they were still hopping. They get pretty busy though so plan ahead! Not sure if they take reservations (I suspect not) but just keep it in mind that you might have to wait if you go at peak dinner hours. Also, best to park down the road a bit. Just after Busbees if you take a Left, there is a parking area behind them where you can park and walk down the Old West boardwalk to OST. Easier than parking on Main Street. Hope this helps!
