My companion had the fish sandwich which had been recommended where we stayed. I had the tea, which was a standout for me and included free refills! Our server was terrific, and people watching at that time was quite fun.

We loved this place so much we are there 3 times in one weekend! Once we got the club sandwich for takeout and had a picnic in the park. It was big enough for my husband and I to share as we had a bag of chips in the car. My husband loved the fish sandwich! The fried bologna sandwich... More

We saw their online menu and the blackberry cobbler pic and had to try it! Much to our surprise, no cobblers of any sort! Bummer. Husband had heavily breaded trout which was ok, but his salad was stale. My chef salad was fresh, but neither dessert was worth the price

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch after biking through Cade's Cove. It was about 1:30 and the place was doing a good business. Lunch was a BLT with fries and it was prepared quickly. The food was good and the desserts looked great too - only we were too full to order any. Next time, definitely. Everyone was courteous.... More

We stopped in and placed a order to go of burgers, fries & lets not forget dessert and every thing tasted great. Every time we drove by the place was always busy so we figured it was probably a good place to eat and were very glad we did.

We love the Black Bear. Small, quaint, and good food. Chesney if our favorite waitress . Chopped steak, lemon chicken, burgers, salads and more.

Worried about getting a table for one based on reviews but got right in. The staff was courteous and prompt and the steak and salad was good. Next time I will leave some room for desert.

We stopped in here because we were really hungry and got veggie burgers, fries and coffee. Probably not the most ordinary order the people there bad received, but the food was made quickly and was delicious. About a quarter through our visit a large group of locals showed up, all familiar with the crew there, and ordered up a lot... More

The place is a small family diner where the food is great and well proportioned. We had the ribeye steak sandwich and the homemade chicken strips both were made to order. Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel like family while we were there. I will be back for the homemade desserts and I will order it first!!!😃

I have eaten here many times as a local. Awesome food. Fast service. Quality of food is as good or better than others in the area. Right on 321 in Townsend. Favorite of locals and tourists. Try the grouper and trout. Reuben sandwich is out of this world.
