If you are a college sophomore probably ok. We recently moved to the surrounding area from Chattanooga & like to support local businesses as much as we can. We came across the Blue Chair when visiting another restaurant in the area & decided to try...it for breakfast Sunday morning. It is a good 30 minute drive for us but we don't mind driving since the other couple places we've tried in the area were great. It was noticeable right off that no one seemed to be in a good place that day? No smiles, no greetings. The girl who took our order never smiled, not friendly. Omelet was undercooked & biscuit cold. No one ever checked to see if we needed anything or if food was ok. Seemed to be a place for the college students to drop in for a quick bite & a coffee as they roll out of bed....& that's fine & great but if you aren't a college student & looking for a good breakfast, good coffee, friendly staff & warm atmosphere don't waste your time. Or money!More

Came here for lunch while riding through Sewanee. I had a grilled chicken finger basket and my wife had fish and chips. Both were done to perfection. Appropriate social distancing was exhibited by all, while maintaining friendly, personal service

The four of us tried the Blue Chair for Sunday brunch. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was fine, the menu was interesting and diverse, and the food was amazing! We had the Tiger Bowl, which was delicious, filling, and a generous portion. The Nashville...Hot chicken biscuit was out-of-this-world! I'm still thinking about it. Don't be fooled into thinking something served on a biscuit will not be enough food, because it was plenty. We were so happy with our food we decided to order dessert, also. The milkshakes were thick and flavorful. The cherry fritter was a yummy treat. I would suggest asking for the fritter to be warmed. The orange cranberry muffin was big, moist, and tangy. By all means, visit the Blue Chair Cafe; the food was outstanding!More

The food at the Blue Chair is off the chain!!! My friend and I are here from Atlanta for a retreat. We came here on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The University salad with lemon dressing was so fresh and delicious ... i...am embarrassed to admit this but, we ordered 2 omelettes, the university salad and chicken and waffles. The food was SO outstanding that we kept ordering ... we’d finish one dish and then order another. I think the key is that Ed Hawkins, the owner uses only farm fresh ingredients. They have gluten free items as well. Each dish was cooked to perfection and prepared super fast ... if you are looking for Southern Comfort food with a California twist. This is it. I highly recommend this restaurant ... ask for Christa. She is wonderful. Christa put up with our ordering non stop for an hour.More
