Went for dinner last night due to the proximity to our campground and the great reviews. And we're very happy with our experience. Madison, our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The complimentary apple fritters with apple butter and small glass...of cider were wonderful. I ordered County Fried Steak and hubby got the Chicken Pot Pie. Portion sizes were large, we almost could not finish. Meals included delicious mashed potatoes and another side, also choice of soup or salad. The broccoli cheddar soup was excellent. Also included was dessert, we chose the apple cobbler but had to take it to go because we were so stuffed. There were so many things on the menu that sounded great it was really hard to decide what to have. I'm very happy we chose this restaurant!More

I had dinner here back in 2007 with extended family. It was awesome! Fast forward to this year. My son and I decided to make a big detour to dine here and see a bit of the town. Seated on the porch, waiting for a...table. Nice chatting with other folks, ceiling fans helping us to keep cool. Easy parking. Handicap ramps. Clean restrooms. Most staff polite, a few rather brusk. Homy decor. I chose the chicken and dumplings, which was very good. My son chose the pork chop dinner. All was good, but that one thin pork chop. It was God awful. Dry, tough and tasted Iike leather. Apple fritters are excellent, as are the biscuits. Our server started out gruff, but we made friends with her by the time we left. It was very busy, so be prepared for a wait at meal times. Try mid afternoon! Enjoy sitting on the porch. Several shops to check out and an ice cream parlor. Take some time to visit the lovely river across the street, with expanses of green lawn and shade trees. Some were fishing or wading, a few picnics taking place. Still recommend a visit!More

Couldn't wait to take my husband to try breakfast from Sevierville's main attraction. The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is known for their delicious (and complimentary) apple fritters and muffins. We also had a small apple julep, too. I always go with the big breakfast served individual...buffet style featuring eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, biscuit, gravy, apples, and grits. Yum!More

We have been visiting the Gatlinburg area since our honeymoon in 1969. In the 70s and 80s the 4 outstanding restaurants were the Burning Bush, The Peddler, The Pioneer Inn, and the Applewood. Two have been gone for a long time, but the Peddler and...Applewood are the gold standard. My only negative comment about the Applewood is that the menu has expanded beyond what is needed, and our all time favorite Trout Cakes is no longer offered.More

It was very busy coming into town and the restaurant was no different. The manager was at the front taking care of getting everyone’s names on the list and moving people in and out like a well oiled machine. However, as a solo diner I...only had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes. I was seated and my order was taken by a very friendly waitress. She brought me out the apple fritters, apple butters, and julep. I loved the apple fritters, and the apple butter was ok, but I bit sweet for me (personal preference). I had the wedge salad that came with my meal and it was delicious. Though, because I was so tired, I couldn’t finish more than a few bites, my food was accurate to order and soooo delicious. The mashed potatoes has to be homemade, but I can’t put my finger on the difference of I’m guessing spices that they add and we don’t and the Mac and cheese was just right. The angus ground steak was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I would definitely come again, and maybe even this visit. I boxed up my food and even after reheating it at the hotel it was still amazing. Oh, and don’t forget the double chocolate cake. Wow!!! Very impressed.More

We had researched places where we could eat with our pet present. We found Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and tried it. We sat on the patio with our dog who is an extremely large dog and had a fantastic dinner. Madison, our server, was fantastic and...she brought him water and rinsed out the water bowl and at the end of the meal she even brought him a bit of whipped cream for desert. She was very busy inside with her area yet she managed to take excellent care of us outside!! The food was really good and I had maybe the best collard greens I have ever had. (We are from Kansas and collards are hard to find here.) The experience was so good we came back for breakfast the next morning before we left the area. I would HIGHLY reccomend this resaurant. Our experience here was more than we could have ever expected. A truly exceptional place to eat with outstanding service, large portions and exceptional food!!!More

The Apple fritters they give you are amazing as well as the juice. Food is amazing as well as generous portions. The price is fair as well. Our waitress was wonderful and friendly. Enjoyed walking around to the other shops after eating.

We didn’t share dinner. Portion size was average. They didn’t charge to share dessert but we used the plates they had brought out for apple fritters. I think the menu said $7.99 though.
