I’ll have to agree with other reviews about this facility. The inside and outside could use some love. Ordered a spicy chicken dish, their version of General tso, and really enjoyed it. It's fast and the staff is friendly, but the place is sketchy. The building is old and dirty, makes you feel like you'll leave with something stuck to you. Food is just okay. There are better choices.
It FEELS like e-coli inside. Staff is friendly and meals are quickly made. But this is some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. (The worst was a little hole-in-the-wall in Washington Heights we used to call Chang's House of Death.) The fried rice...is mushy. All the "hot" dishes - Hunan, Kung Pao, etc. - are bizarrely sweet and gooey. The lo meins are over-saturated and unpleasantly mushy. But, order up! It's fast.More
Josie wanted Chinese food so we went to Hunan Express for an early dinner. Wife had spring rolls, I had chicken fried rice and sister had General Tso’s chicken. The food was bland with little taste. They had griddle in my chicken and no flavor....The place was old and run down and the smell inside the building made my wife nauseous. Very limited customers inside but steady drive through. My husband and I have seen this place several times and have wanted to stop, bur for some reason we didn't until last night. This place is clean and friendly. The prices for food are reasonable. They even have a Weight Watcher's Menu. I was...impressed by the amount of food for the money. I am a lover of Moo Goo Gai Pan and was surprised to see it on the menu. This was one of the best plates that I have had. They give fast service and the food is fresh. My husband ordered the Kung Pao Beef and totally enjoy it, however he couldn't eat the peanuts due to his teeth. We will definately be back.More
We enjoyed the good food at good prices and large portions and fairly quick service. Nice smiles as well. Good value.
This place is the quintessential neighborhood oriental take out place. We like their General Joe's chicken and go here 3-4 times per month. Friendly and clean but I think they are geared for take out as the dining (while spotlessly clean) area is... functional but...not special. I think the egg rolls are store bought as are some of their sauces. Food is served quickly and politely.More
I don't care what kind of meat they use. Whether it be cow, pig, or even cat or dog (LoL!). Whatever they make, its all good! My family and I absolutely love it. I hate that we moved away from East Nashville. We lived right...down the street from Hunan's. We now live in Antioch, but when were out East and have a little extra cash we always stop there for dinner. My favorites would be the Triple Delight, Beef and Broccoli, with either Lo Main Noodles or Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken. If I'm not too hungry or just want something to munch on on my way back home I like either the Chicken on a Stick or Egg Rolls.More
