Great hot spot for a good Asian Sunday brunch. The flavorful homemade wonton dumpling was hot and freshly made. The eggplant tofu hotpot was the best. Almost tastes like mine except sauce tasted a bit orange which I’m not a fan of. The Szechuan beef with steamed rice was very fresh minus the onions for all. Green tea was perfect and the service by Gina was very accommodating. I have heard of this place for years. I’ll go back for the specially prepared duck next time.

M buddy brought me here and he loves good service as much as he loves great food. The one waitress knows his preferences and brings them without him even telling her! Their meals were really good and the Crab Rangoon was really tasty. You ought to try it. And I love black tea with my Chinese meal.

Great place for a quick lunch. Clean, friendly and fast. Food was delicious. I had the garlic chicken (could have used more garlic). Wife had sweet and sour chicken. Tasted good but was battered and deep fried with sauce on the side. Different from the way we are used to.

I'm not sure what the attraction is because the restaurant is packed with carry out orders every time I've visited (no more for me). While I understand that this is not authentic Chinese I'm baffled why they feel like they have to make every dish I've had (Orange beef, spicy beef, Mongolian Beef) with extra sugar. I'm not sure who that appeals to but it's awful to me. I've also had the pot stickers fried and steamed and they were both very ordinary. The Wonton Soup is flavorless and is obviously not prepared ahead of time with a rich stock. Egg Rolls are okay. Fried rice is MEH.
One particularly annoying thing is that for some reason they've stopped carrying pork items. When I've asked the very nice lady who takes care of the cash register she shrugged her shoulders and said, "that's what I'd like to know?" It felt like a comedy skit but it's not.
Prices are average and the wait in the front foyer is chaotic and unorganized but she apologizes frequently in between checking orders and taking calls. They obviously do a strong business but their food preparation is very odd...way too much sugar.
I guess I might start going there for Mongolian Beef Dessert dish.

The food here is very authentic. They even make their own soy sauce which was soo good. Not salty at all. Next time I go I'm going to see if I can buy some. Everything we has was top notch. Will defininitly go back when we are in Nashville again

This small restaurant is in Madison in a strip mall. Parking is plentiful and free. The people who work there are very nice. The restaurant itself is a bit worn, but no big deal. I really did not care for the food. Everything seems to have an overwhelming amount of sugar in it. For example, the crab rangoons are extremely sweet like a dessert. We couldn’t eat our food. Maybe this is what most people like though...

We love China Cottage great food and vey friendly staff. They give you plenty of food. The facility is always clean.

Lunch special until 4PM includes soup or egg roll, rice, generous main dish and fortune cookie. Everything delicious and no MSG. Friendly, smiling staff and very pleasant Chinese music makes this a special place for lunch. I had shrimp in garlic sauce - lots of shrimp! My husband had chicken and broccoli and could not finish. Enough for a second meal.

You wouldn't think a Chinese restaurant in a strip mall would be all that great but this one is, from the service to the food. I have been very impressed especially by the service.

Had the Rangoons as an appetizer...the were fried to perfection and had the most filling of any I have ever had! Delicious! I had the Broccoli Beef Platter and husband had the Sweet and Sour Chicken Platter. They each came with a choice of soup or egg roll and choice of steamed or white rice. We both had the egg roll & fried rice. Egg rolls were more like spring rolls and were a bit greasy because they had just come out of the fryer. Flank steak was a bit chewy, but the broccoli and carrots were done well and the “brown sauce” in which they were cooked was just right. Husband said chicken was a little on the greasy side also. Helpings were generous and I needed a to go box. Will definitely return and try more offerings and get crab rangoons again!

This is my favorite place to eat Chinese. It's clean, the servive is excellent and the food is the best around. A great place for a date or a casual outing. You must try the Crab Rangoon!

If you want some really really good Chinese food this is the place. We ate here for a birthday party for my mom and it was great. They have a room that you can seat 8 people that was perfect for us. We have eat here many times as it is our favorite place for Chinese. The service is excellent, great environment, clean, and the owner as well as the workers are so nice. You need to try this place, you will return!!

Excellent service, excellent food. Especially good... the Hot and Sour soup.. the dumplings, whether steamed or fried (I had a Chinese business colleague visiting, and he said the dumplings were both authentic, and delicious.) Excellent Crab Rangoon (not authentic, but good!) You will do better to go with a crowd so you can share entrees...and order fewer entrees than there are feasters, otherwise you will be taking home a lot of left overs.

China Cottage has good food for good value. The restaurant is clean, service is good, and food is tasty. I especially like their Cashew Nut Chicken and Sesame Chicken. Some Chinese restaurants have very salty soups, but the soups here are not overly seasoned. It is a small restaurant located in a strip mall and could be overlooked. Worth trying.
