For the history buff, this is a cool place with a fine history, but to me, I didn't care for the actual facility. I'm not one for having a moose head stare at me while I eat. Food was good (asked for well done steak, wasn't. oh well!). Service and Host were amazing. When we went, we were the only... More

The reservation host is a PRO. The waiter was informative and energetic who came from the private club.

Talking about character! This place is ALL character.....as soon as you walk in you are greeted as if a mogul arrives to its mansion where the servants line up to greet him. I'm a very easy going person so I was not uncomfortable but amused at the formality. They have really good house Wines, one of the best filet mignons... More

The impressive service started when the Valet showed us in before he took the car. Had a small private room for a business group. Plenty of servers kept the wine glasses full and the food coming out hot and fresh which many places struggle with for a group.

The Standard has been on my list for a special celebration for quite a while. I walked through those very front doors into the historical 19th century building when I was a child taking piano lessons from Susie Mae Beasley on the second floor. It was thrilling to revisit the house and to be so warmly welcomed by Billy Corr,... More

This steakhouse is in a very old homelike building, near downtown Nashville, TN. The only parking is valet in front of the restaurant or city parking down the street. Valet parking is free, except for the tip to the very nice valet driver. The food was exceptional and the service was over the top. Expect to pay $100 -$200 for... More

What an incredible experience ! The filet was perfect. Ribeye done to perfection, with a wonderful smokey flavor. All the side dishes were fresh and exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and friendly in a elegant and wonderfully restored historic home. The round table next to the fireplace was perfect for family conversation. The staff went above and beyond what you... More

We had a party of 10. There were three wait staff attending our needs. Steaks were not cooked as ordered and served to the wrong guests. One of our group didn't get served until five to eight minutes after the rest of us. The waiter commented that the steak must have gotten lost. Two members of our party had fish... More

My sincerest apologies and regrets for your less than stellar dining experience. I can assure you that I take each and every Trip Advisor review very seriously. I have researched the matter and called your host, Mr. White personally and offered my heartfelt response. I have gathered the details from the three wait staff involved, as well as the kitchen... We walked past The Standard and conversation with staff helped us decide to dine there the next evening. This historic building is full of pleasant surprises...including the amazing cuisine. We enjoyed everything on the plate plus the ambiance. And the staff were the best part, sharing some of the history, making certain we were well taken care of, and giving... More
