Had a wonderful dinner here. Good choice of beers at the nice bar area. You can eat downstairs in a casual but we chose the upstairs which was a beautifully decorated room. Service was excellent. Very nice menu - the BIson was fantastic !
Our first visit to Nashville since the universe changed and nice to see that one of our favorite spots for lunch still going strong. We were the first ones there when they opened at 1100 but by the time we left pretty crowded so rec...making a reservation. Just solid food and excellent service. The tator tots could feed an army. We got the French Dip, Soup and Sammy and steak salad. Good portions and all tested greatMore
A surprising find. Not the usual bar food you would find in downtown. The second floor is fine dining ($$$$), first floor is just a step below ($$++) that. We sat on the first floor. Highly recommend making a reservation!. Cocktails are well constructed, good...appetizers, and great service. Main courses are filling and on point. Look around this historic building and ask your server the history of it. He/She will be happy to tell you all about it. Ask for a window seat so you can watch the crowd go by if you can.More
Parking is paid. If your late getting out of the restaurant you can be hit with a $100 parking fine for even a few minutes late. Why support a restaurant were parking can cost you more than the meal????
This restaurant has two levels. I ate at the higher end second floor.
Friendly staff. Manager came over to talk. But the food was average. I started with a Beefeater Martini. At $13.75 for a 2 ounce pour (plus a separate tax on liquor(, a...bit chintzy.
I started with a wedge salad, but instead of the crumbled bacon, it came with a fatty slab of thick cut bacon. I know thick cut is popular, but it was like trying to eat a chunk of fat.
The crab cakes were generous if a bit bland. Came with a nice small greens selection.
The wine list, like the regular menu, is a bit limited by the glass, but I was pleased to find a Cave Springs Riesling from the Niagara region of Canada. A nice surprise.
So, all in all, nothing really bad, but nothing that will have me coming back.More
