The 5 Spot has been a staple for us on happy hour Fridays for probably the better part of 10 years. It feels like home when we go. Great service, the BEST music, and cold drinks. What an amazing gem to have in East Nashville and very proud of their decision to enforce a vaccine policy to keep everyone safe.

So glad we made it over to the East side spot for their Sunday night soul music. The band was incredible. A small space with great sound. Good drinks at reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back to Nashville and check out The 5 Spot on other "theme" nights. There was a $10 cover charge, which was well worth the price for the music we got.

great live music, fun atmosphere. Make sure you bring proof of vaccination. We were hesitant to go this weekend due to the all the extra people in Nashville for the race and the very real threat of picking up the Delta strain. Our group felt very comfortable there and actually spent the most time there over other establishments this weekend. Thank you for caring about your staff and customers despite it being an unpopular decision with some. If more establishments made the same decision it would surely cut down on the spread.

Requiring proof of vaccination. Some people can't get vaccinated or certain vaccinations due to medical issues. Sad....

used to like this place but now they require a unapproved vaccine to be injected into your body even though you could have a health condition that prevents you from being able to get the vaccine or is ignorant to the fact that you could have natural immunity.

In general, I love the 5 Spot. The music is always good, and the atmosphere is feels friendly and fun.
My first Motown Monday was some of the most fun I've had at a Nashville venue! There is mostly swing dancing until about 10:30-11, and then everyone is on the dance floor dancing to Motown. You will definitely be up until close at 3a.m. The DJ's are amazing, and the atmosphere is so fun and free that you can't help but dance along with everyone.

We were lucky enough to catch Paul Birch at the 5 Spot while in Nashville, and on this occasion Fats Kaplan was playing with him so it was a bonus. It's a nice place to see a show because it's a fairly small bar so you can be close to the musicians. The bartenders were good and drinks were reasonably priced. This is in 5 Points neighborhood so there are plenty of places to eat, drink, and 1 or 2 other places to see live music there.

Looks like a hole in the wall but is large inside. Plenty of seating. Drinks are inexpensive but they have a host of top shelf liquors and craft brews. The bartender was friendly and attentive.
Try to get a seat at the bar, if possible.
Parking nearby, across the street at the library(free, but often full) at cubside on nearby streets and at a public lot around the corner.

We came here for Monday Motown dance party and it was amazing! Seemed to be all locals and the vibe was friendly, everyone there was serious about their Motown. It was a great place to people watch too because there were couples swing dancing from 8-10. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Nashville!

This bar/nightspot opens at 8 pm. A random bartender told us about the Motown Monday theme on Monday nights. Being a Monday, we decided to see what this was about. We arrived about 8:30 - probably a dozen people in there. By 9pm, people starting arriving in droves. The first 2 hours or so was rock 'n roll from the 50's-60's. This was obviously well known as the folks turned up to dance the style of the era. many were dressed for it also. There was young & old & was great to watch.
Drink prices were reasonable for a city establishment - $6 for the 16 oz cans of beer & about the same for a vodka drink. We definitely will visit again. enjoyed ourselves watching everyone having fun!

I visited here to see Jason Ringenberg on one of the Thursdays he was doing a residency. This was an enjoyable small place to see someone perform. I was driving so stuck to soda but the staff was friendly and attentive. Not knowing what to expect here, I was pleasantly pleased at how clean this place was compared to similar places I have visited. I would be happy to visit again to see another show.
Thanks for giving Jason a great place to showcase his talent.

I love this place. Super great spot to get some good dancing in and have a drink. They now have expanded their outside patio to have a bar and a food truck. Love. This. Place.

First visit Dec 2017. The 5 Spot is a proper dive (with a vague stench to prove it). But it's authentic, the bartenders are attentive, and the drinks selection is good. On this evening the bill was all rock bands, with the unfortunately-named Juke Skywalker stealing the show. The surrounding neighborhood was also more appealing than the tourist trap awaiting downtown. Recommended.

Similar to The Bluebird Cafe or The Listening Room, The 5 Spot features a central stage for up and coming musicians and bands, along with a fabulous bar with the best local brews. $5 entry & $5 pints, this place has made my trip. Great atmosphere without the crazy tourist feel of downtown. A must!
