Old manor originally owned by a railroad magnet. Large ornate and period decorations throughout each room. Long harvest tables that seat over a dozen people. The table has relishes/condiments set, and the servings begin. Large bowls filled with sides that best your grandmother's cooking. Fried chicken, roast, everyday, with a particular entree on a specific day. It was meatloaf on... More

This is a fun restaurant that serves family style home cooked food. Everyone sits together just like your at grandmas house. We had 3 in our party and sat at a large antique table with 2 other family's. It was nice conversation and way more delicious food than we could eat.

Be sure to allot at least an hour and a half for your meal - the service can be slow at times. Dining in what was presumably a plantation home is fun and the food is really very good, especially the fried chicken. It is a prix fixe menu, served family style and expensive for lunch but it is "all... More

It is not often that I will go out of town, to a city I have never been to before, and go to the same restaurant twice in four days! I was travelling for work and was planning on sitting alone when I went here on a recommendation from my Uber driver. I was pleasantly surprised to see that folks... More

More than the food the ambiance is really good. You feel like eating at home with elders around you watching your manners. The quality of food is good even thou all the dishes were not upto the mark.

We were fortunate. Looking for something a little different than your usual steak house or Italian restaurant, we chose to celebrate the family matriarch’s birthday at Monell’s at the Manor. Everyone in our party of 14 had never been here except her. The importance of how many will be discussed soon. If you must cheat – about paragraph 4 –... More

If you don't have a family member who cooks good southern, soul food, this is a great place to visit. It's very similar to food my family makes so it wasn't as special, but it was good and there was a lot of food. The building was pretty and staff good and friendly. I'd say, your experience can largely be... More

Met with some local family. They suggested we go here for breakfast! So glad they did. Fried chicken tasted like mama used to make. Will definitely be back when in Nashville!

We arrived in Nashville early in the day and since our room wasn't ready for check in, we asked the front desk person for a suggestion for breakfast. She pointed us in the direction of Monell's We pulled in and had no idea what to expect. We were greeted by a very hospitable hostess. She escorted us into the dining... More

Description
Great southern food served family style in a historic setting. Monell's at the Manor is located in an old antebellum home and our service is family style. No reservations, first come, first served. You will be placed at large tables with other people and we bring out platters of southern food. Price includes drink, dessert, entree, vegetables, salads and bread. Menu changes daily. Call for daily selections. After eating stroll upstairs and enjoy the antique furnishings or sit on the veranda and watch the planes go by. Everyone in the party must be present before being seated. We do not have private tables. We will keep your group all together. If you take up a chair, you will be charged. No cellphones at the table and pass to the left.
