We visited to do an inspection for a relaxed wedding venue. Before we walked in we ruled it out as a venue, not appealing from the street. We still decided to go in and have a meal, the service was great (and so it should of, we were the only people in there) Food was amazing, both of our dishes... More

Spur of the moment turned into a wonderful experience. Have been here before and our son goes often but had forgotten how good it is. From booking over the phone to the very end, the service was great. We were made to feel very welcome. For starter I had the scallops main the lamb and sweats I had the chocolate... More

We came here for a bit of a romantic dinner during our stay in Sassafras as other evenings we had eaten in or eaten casual food. From the second we walked in the service was professional and just lovely. The waiter was very informative. The food was divine! Interesting menu choices and we loved every bit of our meals. Upon... Cannot recommend this cafe more highly. Very comfortable seating (ask for a booth), excellent waiter, and the most delicious food. I had a mushroom soup with truffle oil, and a butternut squash risotto, followed by a warm sticky date pudding and savored every mouthful. Friends had the lamb and fish mains which were equally delicious. Great way to spend a... More

Our night here was hit and miss....The best thing about our experience was the service. Our waiter was super friendly yet professional. Unfortunately most of the food was a miss! The menu doesn't read well, with a list of ingredients slapped together which leaves you trying to figure out what the food will be ie. Crispy beef with , peanuts... More

Returning from my 6 weeks holidays away. The first place I would visit for a good, memorable meal is here at the Dandenong ranges. Drive to the restaurant is always a delight & expect to see koalas n even Roos from time to time. My visit is always going for the Chef specials .. Meaning, let the executive Chef, Ben... More

We are regulars at Wild oak, but this instance we found the restaurant has let us down, the table we were allocated had no lights so we were given another table, the restaurant was not heated properly as it was extremely cold in there, the food was also very average & the service poor. Will not go there again...

My husband and I recently had Sunday lunch at the Wild Oak Café and found the experience to be a bit confusing. Firstly, a positive, walking in on a cold winters day the warmth and smells from the kitchen were brilliant and the staff were outstanding, We ate from a special Queen's Birthday menu which looked very appealing. We had... More

We had a beautiful meal while on a quiet weekend away without kids. The setting, the service and the food were outstanding. Braised beef cheeks to die for, crispy pork belly...highly recommend and will definitely go back.

My partner and I recently dined here' during our stay in the dandenongs! We were away to celebrating his birthday and we enjoyed a 5 course chefs selection' with matching wines! Bryce was the host for the evening and made us feel welcome from the second we walked in! The menu had been designed around our likes and dislikes' wild... More
