We visited this hotel today for lunch and ordered items from the quite extensive seniors menu. The samosa and garlic bread entree was tasty and hot. The steaks and vegetables were well cooked to order with an interesting brie sauce. We were most impressed with the staffs' helpful and cheerful service and sat at a table with a very pleasant... We had dinner here early on Saturday night. It had just opened for dinner so was not busy. The first meal we chose (Graziers beef pie) wan not available. Disappointing, none the less we chose something else. The meal I ordered was not what I was expecting prosciutto wrapped chicken breast with creamy Brie sauce. Well the chicken was not... More

We hadn't been to Davey's for many years but I had a birthday email for a free meal and since our favourite local, family friendly restaurant (Dragon King) wasn't open on a Monday nor our favourite take-away (Baxter Fish and Chips), we decided to give it a try...big mistake, HUGE! About 8 other people in the bistro should have given... More

We went to dinner here one night because it is near the sea and we wanted to watch a dramatic storm roll in across the bay. It may have been a really off night, but I was brought the wrong dish, when I pointed it out to the annoyed waitress she looked even more annoyed so I said I would... More

So disappointed - waiting service was terrible, food terrible, bar service was a joke. The Manager appeared to be hiding in the kitchen, leaving inexperienced staff to deal with chaos. My steak was tough, meal was not as I requested. Partner's fish was tiny inside a large, very yellow batter. Gave up waiting at the bar for second drinks. We... More

After waiting some time at the "wait to be seated" sign someone finally ambled over after previously seeing us & looking away. Waitress then pounced to take our order but we hadn't even viewed the menu. Bad mistake. Then took 15 minutes for her to come back. The bar was no different, unattended for ages until someone noticed there were... More
