This is not just a meal, but an experience. From the moment we arrived we felt special, and were well and truly looked after. We had the ten course tasting menu, and what a treat, from the way each dish was presented, the flavours and the knowledgable staff. We weren't rushed in any way, and the atmosphere was lovely. The... More
Returned to the restaurant for a triple retirement/anniversary/birthday celebration and so glad we decided to come back. The service is so friendly, yet always professional - and very knowledgeable about the menu, able to answer a number of questions. We felt really well looked after. The food is..... just amazing. We had the 10 course tasting menu, and from the... More
Return visit for the 9 course tasting menu absolutely superb as ever and Liz even gave us extras not on the menu. she really is a fabulous hostess.
This venue sets itself up to appeal to the serious foodie as they only offer a tasting menu. It has a sign outside describing it as a 13th century inn, yet it is certainly not an inn but a serious restaurant. Don't expect hand pulled real ale or artisan pork scratchings. This is a restaurant wrapped in the cloak of... More
Booked the 'Hare inn' because of the great trip advisor reviews, we were not disappointed. We arrived just at opening time, and were taken through to a lovely sitting room where we enjoyed our drinks. We were then shown to our table. The decor is homely and welcoming and we felt very comfortable. We decided to go for the tasting... More

The chef is very accomplished and delivered a 10 course tasting menu without a single weak dish. A feast for the eyes as well as the palate. We opted for wine... More
I have been previously and always very good. However on this occasion arrived I ordered a shandy, no draught beers, no lemonade no coke no larger either unless it's bottled. The woman behind the bar had 0 people skills and didn't like to talk. Why work in a bar? Then led to a weird little anti room which resembled a... More
Dear Goldenboy943, We will not apologise for our food and drink offering. We love and are very passionate about what we do. We are not a pub, we are a restaurant and have won multiple awards for what we offer and for our service. You did not eat, you did not drink, so please do not judge something that you... More
A few weeks prior we decided to give The Orangery at Rockliffe Hall a bash. A lovely hotel, great room, but with wine pairing it was £40 a head more expensive than The Hare Inn. Yes Rockliffe will have greater overheads BUT....The Hare just knocks it out of the park when it comes to the food and the greeting. We... More
