This was our second visit to the Nicolas hotel - our first was a few years ago for lunch and this most recent visit was for an evening meal. We had not booked and a large group of tourists were already seated, so our hostess...More
Classic pub food, so always go for what the do good, parmas, risotto and burgers. Ok boring, but the food was quick and the service was friendly.
Day trip to Beechworth with my Husband; arrived at lunch time and most places to eat were packed out. The Nicholas Hotel looked like an old pub from the outside and has the same charm inside; and not too busy.. We ordered the parmy (no...More

My husband and I had our Christmas Lunch at this beautiful old Hotel. The food was delicious and the decor was exceptional. Old photos everywhere you look to tell the story of Beechworth and the gold rush.
4 children and 6 Adults. Good selection on the menu, with great value children's menu. James our waiter was very friendly and have personal tour of sub-terranean level. Food was good quality and reasonable proportions.

We found the staff here so friendly and the meal was excellent. The dining room is so quaint with the mini stage that it has, It would be a good venue when thay have a guest artist performing here.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, warm fire and the bar service was friendly and accommodating. We had the Tuesday special of Bangers and Mash and a delicious chicken schnitzel.
