Ordered a medium rare rib-eye and got a Waffle House paper thin well done resemblance of a steak. Soup was kinda warm with a mixed flavor of filet and cinnamon. Wife ordered smoked brisket. She got several slices of very thin, over cooked brisket that tasted like a tough piece of oven baked roast. Maybe being from Texas our expectations were too high. But, they were based on reading other reviews. We started to return our steak and brisket for smoke ham, but saw another patrons ham plate. Decided just to leave.

Not sure where to start.....Will start by saying my husband and I have been visiting this establishment for over 26 years. Will continue by saying I love the atmosphere and the shop. The service was great, but unfortunately the salad bar/buffet left much to be desired this trip. The hot food looked as if it had been out too long. Corn bread was very dried out and the salad bar needed more options. So disappointed. Give them a try and enjoy!

Yes, some days we do not follow up and do our job as well as we should and it gets old and dried out, we apologize. My husband and I were on our way home to Kansas and wanted a local place to grab a meal. We love BBQ so we were excited to try this place. Our table was dirty, not the sticky dirty but it clearly still had salt on it. The atmosphere is very quiet, granted we got there at 3:30, but no background music (which would’ve been nice). My husband ordered the open-face Roast Beef sandwich and I ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich. Both meals were really good. I originally didn’t receive the correct side and no dipping sauce I specifically asked for when ordering. Flagging down our waitress was impossible so I got up and asked the busboy. They quickly made it right. I was hoping to receive a variety of BBQ sauces to try so I could take some bottles home for gifts. I think I received the original which was pretty good. After our meal we checked out the attached gift shop and bought some BBQ sauce, jams and soaps. Overall not a bad meal. I would visit the gift shop again and maybe get a meal to go but I would definitely check my boxes before leaving to make sure I received everything I requested.

The smokehouse restaurant service and food was not good. They don't practice Covid precautions. Some staff were serving food with masks around their neck but not on. No one used gloves.
The first night we were seated fairly quickly but ignored completely. The waiting staff would walk right by and pointedly refused to make eye contact or say anything. Most places the staff will say "someone will be right with you" or something. They were cold and disinterested. After a long wait of being ignored we got up and left. No one said anything. I spoke to the owner on the way out and he didn't seem to care. He made some flippant remark about the waiting staff and let us leave with no reconciliation at all.
We tried the restaurant again Saturday night and ordered the brisket sandwich and full rack of ribs. Everything was super greasy. The sandwich bread quickly became saturated and disintegrated into nothing. The ribs were dry rub and over salted for my tastes. I barely ate a 1/4 of the ribs. I live in Tennessee and I know good dry rub ribs and these were not. Service was ok this night.
Finally, we had the Breakfast buffet Sunday morning and were disappointed again. Everything was cold. The grits seemed to have been stretched with water. There were 2 positives. The coffee was excellent as was the bacon.

The new location is NOT comparable to the original Smokehouse. We were served small frozen hamburger patties with unseasoned half cooked fries. The place is COLD and very drafty. Fried pickles, two cheeseburgers, an order of brussel sprouts with BOTTLED sodas was $60! Never again. Don't waste your time. Oh and the food was served on paper plates.

We were so disappointed in the quality of the breakfast buffet food. You could tell that most items were from a can or frozen and not made from scratch. Everything was hardly warm and the pancakes were rubbery discs that were hardly warm either. The only good thing was the bacon. My daughter ordered an omelet and it looked decent. Our waiter did an ok job but definitely showed no enthusiasm and customer service was lacking. We were so disappointed since we had heard this place was a must stop place for many years.

Melissa, thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for the breakfast buffet not meeting your expectations. Buffets, especially breakfast, are a challenge; when pancakes sit out for a little while, they get that way, they're never as good as fresh & crispy off the grill. This is not up to our normal standards, sometimes these things do slip thru our fingers, and don't measure up, we apologize.

My husband and I spent Friday and Saturday in cabin 442 and adored it! Cute, clean and just the right size. Loved the front porch, fireplace, king size bed and giant tub! Ideal location for a romantic getaway where you just want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The ability to have the restraint deliver right to your cabin is really nice. Friendly and down home our food was always delivered quickly. Had to wait 15 minutes or so past check in time as the ca bin wasn’t ready but that’s the only negative. A fire pit and grill outside are nice and the kitchen comes with dishes and glasses for four. Plan on returning with the grandkids and doing more activities this weekend was for enjoying staying in!

We had breakfast one morning, those in the party sampled much on the menu, and all were satisfied. Great portions, reasonable prices, and quick, efficient service. Bacon was the best I have had in ages, not an easy thing to get right.

My husband had the smoked sausage with peppers and onions. I had the grilled pork chops. My husband said the smoked sausage was good. My pork chops were simply “ok”. Flavor was lacking but they were moist. We both got baked beans and cole slaw. The baked beans tasted like they are straight out of a can with absolutely no flavor at all and the cole slaw was room temperature. I saw signs up that state they have recently suffered a fire and perhaps they are still in the process of rebuilding which is why I hate to leave a poor review. However, at the same time, I still want to leave an honest review. The server was friendly though.

Went here for lunch during a weekend getaway. Had to wait a bit to get a table. Staff kept looking at us and one person said "we'll be with you in a minute" but we still waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I would not say they were that busy. I had the BBQ baked potato and husband had the chicken livers. Food was average but husband had to send his greens back as they were cold. Our waitress however was very good and made up for the food being just so-so. We might be willing to try again as the restaurant has a lot of history which made it interesting.

We used to make a special trip here before it burned down. Stopped by the “enclosed” patio and won’t be back. Green beans were tasteless. Sausage and onions were greasy. Okra and fried pickles were great. Light in bathroom didn’t work with no hot water. Very cold inside even with fire. Over $70 for 3 people for a meal served on paper plates and plastic utensils.

Thought it might be something good but it sucked.
Son’s hamburger patty was as thin as one form McDonald’s and obviously a pre-formed frozen patty. Crinkle cut fries from piggly wiggly probably….
Wife’s sausage sandwich seemed to be a ballpark hot dog
My sausage platter with onions and peppers was greasy as hell….
Only plus was the fried Brussels sprouts. Pretty good…
Water was in bottles and you had to pay a buck each
Paper plates and plastic silverware!
Seemed like a bad picnic
It was raining and the roof was leaking.
Never again….

The fried chicken was better than average. The club sandwich was very hearty - lots of food and it was good. My open faced roast beef sandwich was a bit tough and the brown gravy was cold, and my slaw was partially frozen. Seevice was not to my personal standard. It was a cute stop for road food.

I had dinner from the buffet. Meat loaf looked like it was left over from lunch - very dry and crusty. BBQ was good. Mac and cheese and green beans were very tasty. Breakfast was ordered off the menu. Eggs, gravy, biscuits and coffee were great. Atmosphere = non existent. Walk in, sit down, order, eat and pay on the way out. Service was good and price very reasonable. Easy access off I 24.

Not good or bad, just average. Vegetables on the buffet were straight from a can And underseasoned. Beef stew was very good. Smoked chicken had a good flavor but like jerky, smoked way too long. Fried chicken was good but could tell the grease had a faint old/burnt taste. The bread pudding was fantastic. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to go or not to go, wouldn’t drive out of my way or make a special trip. Very neat store to browse. Just Average - on the food.
