Food and beers are good, staff ok. Location is exceptional and that's why it is so popular. Just next to Manly Wharf.

Chose The Bavarian to have a coffee as it was conveniently located close to the ferry terminal and I had been there on one other occasion some years ago. The location and views are great; the coffee was okay - as was the service.

I think it relies on it's location, doesn't focus on service. Was surprised to find they're serving less and less German beer which is strange for the "Bavarian" especially when there's so many other pubs in Manly including 4 Pines just across the road. Service is lacklustre as they always seem to be understaffed.

Manly has quite a choice of restaurants and based on our experience today, find another. The menu is extensive enough at reasonable prices but two factors put us right off. Firstly, all the staff we dealt with(4 in total) were curt, brusque and made no effort whatsoever to make us feel welcome. Whilst waiting to be served I noticed other... More

The location is perfect... the service really needs work. The kids meals arrived quickly - which was great. However our meals where forgotten. When they finally arrived (after chasing), the salad wasn't as ordered. We re-ordered our drinks three times before anything finally arrived. We couldn't find anyone to get the bill, so approached the bar. The restaurant's website advertises... More

We landed here because my 14 year old wanted to swim and we wanted to have lunch. So we snared a table overlooking the calm, shark netted beach at the Manly Wharf and had lunch whilst watching the swimmers. We had burgers and chips, they were reasonable, the cheeseburger was 100% on a Maccas burger, the chips were okay. It... More

Dined here recently for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The location and view is amazing. Ordered the tasting plate which we enjoyed. Our interstate guests were very impressed.

Such disgusting service. The lady and gentleman behind the bar need some lessons on how to treat people. And to bad mouth customers in front of other customers who are standing in front of them. Worst resturant experience in the whole of Sydney. My elderly father was told to hurry up and order when he was trying to read the... More

Conveniently located on the Pier we decided to try out this place after we visited the Aquarium. Well trained staff who were happy to see us and good atmosphere, We weren't being blown out of the venue by loud disco music. We all enjoyed our Food and it's good value for money and it was fun, we also tried the... More

Neighborhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbor Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
