We had the 8 course degaustation, every course was delicious. It was a little pricy but we'll worth it.

Great Japanese with sensational dedustation menu at $65.00 worth every penny. The menu is sensational and locals should take advantage before they move to Bangarra

My partner and I attended Waqu on the 16th May. The whole experience was superb. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. We had the 8 course degustation and the courses each arrived perfectly timed so that you never had the feeling of waiting or being rushed. As a romantic venue to take your beloved, I can highly recommend this... More

We came here because they had a special deal. We weren't disappointed! Food was exciting and delicious, although I wouldn't come here with our very hungry young adult son (who literally eats twice as much as a normal human being). Would definitely recommend this place!

We have visited Waqu in the past but not for some time. I had been away from home for the days prior to our most recent visit, and as it was my wife's birthday, I wanted to surprise her with an indulgence. We regularly enjoy sashimi and there was a sashimi dish on the current 8 course degustation meal. My... More

We have been hoping to visit Waqu for a long time based on their great reviews. Finally, we have chance to pop in for lunch. The ambience is nice. Good for a business lunch or a date. Service is attentive and nothing to fault. However, the foos was disappointing for us. We had a 3 course and 5 course lunch.... More

Waqu is a great blend of French cuisine meets Japanese cuisine. The Waqu mini degustation menu is wonderful. Slow cooked trout, Wagyu beef, seared duck breast. Each course is complimented with terrific garnishes, infused foams, rich sauces and complex jus's. Incredibly subtle flavours, perfectly chosen to highlight each dish presented. There are 6 courses presented. Each course may appear smaller... More

The only advantage about Waqu is the premise, formerly a bank with high ceiling comfortable seating, soft lighting, quite romantic except for the unfriendly owner who is not dying to make you welcome, even when our friend hires the private dining room a couple of times! The food is fusion, in the set menu, which is not cheap, portions are... More

23 of us had a 6 course degustation yesterday. Simply superb, couldn't fault it. The presentation was fabulous. I am returning this Friday to do it again! Highly recommended Jumpei and his team did a great job

Waqu is a modern Japanese Restaurant with a touch of Western Influence. Once off the bustling Pacific Highway you enter into a sanctum of elegance and comfort. We had organised a group of 6 for a relaxing catch up and picked Waqu in the hope to enjoy some wonderful food with our friends. We were not disappointed. Taking on the... More
