We were visiting from out of town for work and this was a great place to visit. The service was so great - nothing was missed. We began with a cocktail and chose the banquet. We did not regret having the banquet, everything was delicious and for $48 it was value for money especially for the quality. After dinner we... More

This restaurant is awesome - a wonderful modern twist on your favorite traditional dishes. We were worried that it would be the usual noisy,Greece dancing, plate-smashing affair, but this restaurant sits discreetly on the first floor of Darling St, and is just right in terms of ambiance and atmosphere. Sofie is great fun, very attentive and is happy to recommend... More

Wow what a little hidden gem this is, well worth our drive from Mosman. I took my son here for dinner recently, atmosphere was just right for a good catch up and the food was great. service was thoughtful too, attentive and friendly yet not intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. we will be back.

Sofie's is the BEST Greek restaurant in Sydney - simple as that. This is not fake Greek food, this is the real thing. The food is clean, fresh, full of authentic flavour and exceptional value. Where else in Sydney can you find exceptional mains in the mid-$20's? The lamb kleftiko falls off the bone it is so well cooked and... More

We have dined at Sofie’s several times and find the food to be fresh, delicious, with a home-made quality. Highly recommend the Dolmades in spinach. I also love the Pastitsio the Greek version of Lasagne only milder in taste but just as delicious. Slowly going through the menu and intend to taste everything on offer eventually. Love the lighting, decor... More

Description
Sofie and husband Peter have once again opened the doors to the Greek restaurant she first launched in 1975. Now located UPSTAIRS a world away from the bustle of Darling Street, the restaurant is sure to become synonymous with hospitality and excellent dining. The smashed plates from Greek restaurants all over the world which adorn the walls add to the distinctly Greek ambiance. The blue room which holds 20 people sit-down for a private function has a comforting palette of rich vibrant coloured cushions, silk walls, candle light and is separated from the main restaurant by silky sheer curtains. In total, Sofie's can accommodate 88 sit-down (150 cocktail style) patrons. You will enjoy hearty traditional Greek dishes and exciting contemporary creations. Sofie and husband Peter are caring friendly hosts who provide service with attention to detail and will make sure your dining experience is unforgettable. They take pride in what they do, with utmost enthusiasm and professionalism, striving for excellence offering you and your guests service second to none. Sofie's is great for a romantic dinner for two or a big Wednesday to Friday OR Saturday evening a party atmosphere with stylish Tsifteteli dancers complimenting the evening with a brilliant floor show. Open once monthly for lunch on Sundays. Will open for large groups outside business hours
