A stopover during a walk around the neighbourhood. Good coffee, helpful service and reasonable selection of tasty pastries.

I’m thinking this cafe has changed ownership since the previous good reviews. It was obvious that the cakes were definitely not baked on the premises (factory made). The Almond Croissant was lacking almond with only a minute taste of almond other than the flaked almonds...on the top. Coffee and service was good. But the decor was horrendous. I’m not sure what they were aiming for but it it was an eclectic blend then this has been achieved. So many security cameras in the main eating area inside made me wonder how many people of poor taste would try to slip any of the myriad of tasteless objects in to their bags. So many other choices and indeed will try them on future visits.More

This is the cutest cafe on Darling street. The food is nice and the service good too. We got the creamy eggs with spinach, basil and tomatoes. It was good, but I would have preferred it if it also had a bit of cheese. Definitely...worth a visit for your breakfast or brunch.More

The staff were friendly and helpful I decided to spoil myself with decadence and try a raspberry souffle (?) with my coffee Talk about a Gastric Delight! the desert melted in my mouth and exploded in a kaleidoscope of flavour I made a point of...finding and thanking the proprietors for the experience I will definitely be back...More

I organised a birthday lunch for a friend who wished to have French food and we were going to Balmain. I did check on Trip Advisor and thought the comments were complimentary. We were very disappointed in the food - there was only a Croque...available - the remainder was not French. The cafe itself is quaint and staff very good. Whilst we were there a gentleman came in and with permission of the person in charge approached us for a contribution to a charity - we were in an awkward position and two of us contributed but the other two, on principle, would not.More

Relaxing spot for delicious breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Terrific variety of home made choices. Perfect for a long lingering coffee or tea with dessert. I chose one of the lovely egg specialities served with delicious toast and a jam made of banana, mango and...cinnamon. This was the best breakfast I’ve had in ages in a laidback, hip area of Sydney. I’ll be back for sure.More

I would like to be able to tell you what the food is like at this airy, light filled cafe but I ended up leaving without eating. I arrived with a friend for lunch on Sunday, equipped with a BYO bottle of wine, having enjoyed...both the food and a BYO wine on a previous occasion. Having sat down I was told by a waitress that alcohol was not permitted. I acknowledge that the place has no liquor licence but BYO is widely accepted at cafes in Balmain and elsewhere in Sydney. I queried the advice and pointed out that I had brought BYO wine to this cafe before without a problem. Bizarrely I was told that there were no glasses available! A tumbler would have sufficed, I wasn’t looking for Waterford crystal. The waitress maintained her position, which made me wonder what would have happened if I had asked for a glass of water! I have no time for this sort of attitude, so we left and won’t be back. It’s a shame really, the place looks great and has a lovely position, with a past visit attesting to good food. Their loss.More

Pretty little Cafe in a quiet part of Balmain. Service was attentive. The coffee was good but the pastries while looking beautiful and French were really not good quality and not made to authentic French recipes. Very average mass produced in taste and flavour, pastry...not even fresh or crisp. Maybe the breakfasts would be better as they did look promising viewing what other customers had ordered.More

Easter Sunday breakfast with no surcharge. Fair range of choices - omelettes, baked eggs, croque madame. Food was tasty. Coffee good. Service was attentive. Pretty set-up.

Simple but tasty and excellent value. Service is great. Food is served freshly prepared and hot! The owners take great pride in their business. Freshly baked on site treats are available also.
