Second visit to this amazing restaurant. I have been lucky enough to travel the world, and eat in it's best restaurants, but there is something very magical about Ynyshir that will make you want to keep coming back. A very special place indeed.

I visited here last month with a friend. Truly memorable experience. We sat on the pass bench where Gareth and his team are preparing the dishes before they personally deliver and explain each course. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you

We come from an environment where fine dinning was hard to do and not much choice, to being in the perfect place to be able to branch out and try different places - we have been bitten by the bug and actively seek good food....More

My wife and I love L’enclume in Cartmel and class it as the best food experience we’ve ever had...until now. Both restaurants offer exceptional gastro experiences, but what we really loved about Ysynir was the relaxed, less formal nature of the dining - which is...More

The fun and flavour of the lunch was unbelievable! The setting is amazing; the ambiance borders surreal. The dining room (juxta the kitchen) very select. The staff and proprietor chef were friendly, almost 'matey', but not in the least patronising. The whole experience appealed to...More

Can not recommend this place enough, lovely venue and grounds, staff were so friendly and just genuinely buzzing about their jobs, and I thought as a package it was great value. I even enjoyed the 3 hour drive, beats the M1! Onion soup was an...More

Not been since the sad loss of Joan. What a contrast! Gone is the traditional set up - a re-fit and a new chef have produced a trendy, exciting and modern restaurant which, on the evidence of our visit, is without doubt the best in...More

Ynyshir is a destination restaurant with rooms in mid-Wales holding 5 AA rosettes as well as 1 Michelin Star. The focus is on the complete experience, a journey through our landscape and through our seasons. The restaurant serves tasting menus using the very best of Welsh and British produce following the seasons, such as Welsh Wagyu Beef and Anglesey Onions, locally foraged sea herbs from the estuary and greens from the woodland floor and Ynyshir's grounds. During hunting season expect to see wild deer and local duck, grouse and partridge, and in summer Welsh Lamb from the Dyfi valley. Gareth and his team pickle, salt, ferment and preserve fruits, leaves and berries carrying the harvests through the winter and into the spring. whilst overlooking the Cambrian mountains.
