This is much more than a pub and could at the least be described as a gastro pub. Sunday lunch was superbly cooled and good value with helpful serving staff on hand.A geniune suprise with the sole negative being the austere ambience in the dining room.We shall return!

Called for a couple of beers and some hearty food on a cold November day. Very good selection of real ale, reasonably priced. The bar is cosy and very traditional. The brasserie is modern but very welcoming, the real fire was perfect on cold winters day. The food was delicious and as good as Ive tasted in a long time.... More

The ambience is great. Pre-prandials in the old lounge. Then an excellent dinner in the loft. The food enjoyed was lobster and scallops starters, turbot main and cheese to follow. Superb. Good wine list too although the house wines always reliable.

We stayed at the hotel at the same time as Never Again and they must have been to a different Hotel. The staff were polite and attentive and if you had done your home work it is obvious you can't park at the hotel . £3 overnight a 150 yard walk away no issue. The main restaurant was closed but... Made use of the fabulous bar on Sat and ate in their Bistro restaurant on the Sunday night. Thoroughly enjoyable beer in the bar and great food in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

We stopped here in a rainy day in our trip around Wales. Highly recommend able, the tavern is a town classic, very old fashioned, very nice. Fireplaces here and in the restaurant are extremely cozy! And very welcomed in a cold and rainy winter day. Soup of the day, onion rings, penned pesto with king prawns , all delicious. Great... More

Stayed on a Saturday night out of the "tourist" season. We ate in the loft, and stayed in the townhouse. Check in was easy and quick, the Bull Inn itself was lovely- nice warm log fires in each room. Old but stylish and clean. The town house was next door, over the road- very close but did have a slight... More

We booked a night in the Townhouse adjacent to and owned by the Bull's Head. It was ultimately ironic that we'd done this above all to assure ourselves of a good night's sleep. First though, numerous positives: The hotel is well appointed, has lots of period charm, lays on a very good menu and a well stocked bar, and above... More

Treated my wife to a belated meal in The Loft at The Bull after a gap of probably more than a couple of years. As before, the welcome was really warm, and the whole evening was just right, from the lightly spiced popcorn with our pre-dinner drinks (terrific list of gins by the way) through to the desserts, which we... The brasserie at the Old Bull offers a wide variety of excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. Service is certainly friendly but is untrained.

Thank DJ J
