A fairly standard modern-style hotel but set up with a rambling building. Clean but not particularly stylish. Careful not to get confused with the bar next door - although there is a direct link between the two. There is a (free at night) car park not too far away but there could be an issue of getting any luggage to... More

Food was okay and reasonably priced. Kids meals are huge. Tables were a bit sticky and I had to ask for ours to be cleaned. Would we go again? Yes.

Honestly so diaspointing, the staff are nothing but rude and ignorant! It was so quiet yet we waited 45 minutes for my food my husbands came first so I then waited an extra ten minutes! It was burnt and quite frankly tasted like salt! The table was sticky so obviously not c,earned properly half job and the place defiantly needs... More

Visited with my hubby whilst out shopping. We both had the burger deal with a free drink which was good value. The food took awhile to come and when I asked they said they were short staffed. Never the less the food was hot and tasty.

Visited Monmouth for a change, wish I hadn't. Apparently they had a busy weekend, so no Burgers, no Jacket Potatoes, had to have Faggots that were not good.

We were visiting Monmouth for a few days so decided to visit Weatherspoon’s as the do tend to have a good selection of ales at reasonable prices. This is a large, old, building, with quite a long bar. There is a good amount of seating available. On the first visit I had the Large Mixed grill which was very good.... More

Originally a coaching inn and local hostelry for the more well heeled of Monmouth's society, now a JDW outlet. Not to my taste but the younger members of my family and their friends often use it as a place for a late evening drink. Prices are very competitive and there are plenty of nooks and crannies that afford a quieter... More

The Kings Head is a restaurant/pub in the J D Wetherspoon chain and is located in the Town Square, opposite the Town Hall. The Grade II listed coaching inn building dates from the mid-17th century. We enjoyed a fantastic chicken burrito lunch which was the closest to authentic tasting Tex-Mex food I have found in the UK. The burrito was... More

Stayed one night to split a journey. As a listed building there are obviously limitations on what they can do. The main bar area is in need of lightening up, it was dark and drab, we did see a couple of guys starting to strip the wallpaper at 7.00 in the morning so perhaps a refurb. is starting. The hotel...
