Called at Royal Oak with son and granddaughters for a meal, we were pleasantly surprised, the welcome we received was warm and the service excellent, the food is what you would expect to find in a pub, but every meal we ordered was cooked to perfection, the hand made chips were delicious, our two young granddaughters cleared their plates, as... Came here for family birthday. The food was not very nice unfortunately :-( very disappointed to be honest. Might try again at some point to see if there is any improvement. It surely couldn't get worse. But I am willing to give it another chance in the future

During our self catering holiday we decided on sunday lunch out. The Royal Oak in Aberaron catered for all our needs, dog friendly, children welcome and good food. Beth said it must be good the cook is wearing whites. Quaint pub right on the main street. No frills and no hassle.

This is the third visit in 3 years. Very poor. Will not return. Beef was tasteless. Such a shame as in previous years it was tradionally tasty with no frills

We (a family group of 7 adults) ate there for Sunday lunch. We had the Sunday roast (choice of lamb or beef). Portions were generous and food was well cooked, even the vegetables which are tricky to get right. The pub is very basic. They only took cash, not cards.

A beautifully kept pub in the heart of Aberaeron serving good local beer and a top notch Sunday roast dinner. Dogs welcome, pool table, jukebox, how a pub should be. No complaints whatever. Host was laid back and friendly, allowed me to try beer before buying. A hidden, old school, simple gem.

We went here on a Friday night after leaving another pub in the area due to the level of cleanliness (sticky tables menus banisters and dirty glasses). We were warmly welcomed and given a menu. I had garlic mushrooms and my partner had chicken soup for starters. Both were ok (soup may have been tinned) but hot and plentiful. I... More
