A beautifully kept pub in the heart of Aberaeron serving good local beer and a top notch Sunday roast dinner. Dogs welcome, pool table, jukebox, how a pub should be. No complaints whatever. Host was laid back and friendly, allowed me to try beer before buying. A hidden, old school, simple gem.

We went here on a Friday night after leaving another pub in the area due to the level of cleanliness (sticky tables menus banisters and dirty glasses). We were warmly welcomed and given a menu. I had garlic mushrooms and my partner had chicken soup for starters. Both were ok (soup may have been tinned) but hot and plentiful. I... More

Had lovely welcome here and food was very nice...in fact too much. Prices very reasonable and nothing was too much trouble for the owner. Would definately call again.

went here for family meal and get together. The power kept going off , like every ten minutes. We waited 45 minutes for our meals. I had half chicken , which was very overdone. The outside skin was so crispy and stuck to chicken which was very dry , if I hadn't been so hungry I would of sent it... More

Very friendly pub , accepted dogs ! Had the roast beef , I have to say it was one of the best roasts I've had in a pub . Normally you pay through the nose and receive crap ! Not here ! Excellent all round .

Lovely homemade chips with my curry although my curry was a bit bland and very runny. The mrs had tagetelle which was also quite bland and undercooked pasta. Could do with a lick of paint in there but I suppose it was quite quaint.

We tried many of the "locals" in Aberaeron but decided this was the "classic" pub to have either a quick pint or stay for a meal. The Landlord and staff made us feel welcome and the meals were all "above standard" pub grub. The outside of the pub does not do the service and atmosphere of the pub justice -... More

Booked this pub for a family meal (a party of 16). Excellent service staff could not do enough. The food was all home made all meals were large and a good selection. Definitely worth a visit. Don't be put off by the look of the pub.

We came across The Royal Oak when visiting Abernean. It was around lunchtime and we needed a venue that was both dog friendly and could also accommodate a mobility scooter. The landlord could not have been more helpful. Helping get the scooter inside and showing us a table just inside and close to the bar, taking our drink order and... More
