Best casual place to eat on Beale St. Ribs are awesome. Catfish and Gumbo very good. Great service and a good selection of local beers.

First restaurant on Beale Street for BBQ, across from Hardrock Cafe. Hubby and I split the Best Meal on Beale, which was ribs, catfish, home fries, slaw, and beans for $21.95. Perfect meal for the both of us. The catfish was so good! The ribs...were delicious also. My daughter had the 3 tamales with chili. She loved it and it was $7.95. Cutely decorated and the service was fantastic.More

Lunch and dinner We enjoyed bbq for lunch and a late dinner. Great food and service. We felt safe eating here. They are complying with the COVID restrictions.

Best greens I’ve ever had! We also had the bbq shrimp, fried shrimp, and stew. The shrimp are huge and delicious! The service was very good and it’s a fun, lively atmosphere. There was a short wait when we got there around 5pm and pretty...long wait when we left. We would eat here again for sure!More

Ribs and catfish platter was excellent! Fast and friendly service. Great old time vibe with a tre blues cafe atmosphere. They seemed to be doing all they could to keep everyone safe concerning covid.

Best on Beale - the food is outstanding, we ate here twice! The BBQ is so good here. It’s a nice cafe with an old time vibe but the food is why everyone comes here.

Literally the best food ever! We had the jumbo shrimp, fries, slaw, stuffed mushrooms, catfish, and gumbo! All amazing! Their sweet tea was even excellent! And even amid covid, the staff was friendly and on point with service! Will definitely return!

Some family members and I were traveling, and stopped in Memphis area on the way down South. We stayed at a nearby hotel, and were recommended to eat at this place by a host at the hotel desk due to its proximity. After checking the...online menu in our room, we decided to order. Did not regret it in any way. The call was quick and efficient, even though we were 30 minutes only before their closing time. The food was ready in only 10 minutes, and we were able to talk the brief walk over to pick it up almost immediately. This may have been due to the odd time and COVID situation, but the food was already prepared and ready for pickup at their bar area. The restaurant was casual dining styling, but with wide spacing for potential in-house eating. We ordered a full rack of ribs, a catfish filet, and the tamales. This also came with some of their fries, Texas toasts, hush puppies, baked beans, and chili. I'll just go down the line. The ribs were phenomenal, and while everyone says their ribs fall of the bone, these FELL off the bone. The meat was delicious and tender, fairly lean but with a delicious melt-in-your-mouth slight fattiness. It was a delectable barbeque sauce, that didn't overpower the ribs (focusing on emphasizing the quality of the ribs and their overall preparation). The catfish was a lovely lightly breaded filet, and very pleasant. The tamales were good, spicier than my personal taste but that's just me. They had a good balanced flavor with the beef, but I think it would have been nice to have another flavor option. The fries were average. They were good potatos, and no doubt go excellent with their chili and gumbo fries as a solid base, so no complaints. The Texas toast though was a whole different animal. Maybe I just haven't had a good Texas toast before, but this was incredible. Perfect toasting, soaked in butter, and a light hint of garlic flavor, all while not being too heavy. Was NOT expecting it to be that good. The hush puppies and beans were similarly outstanding, with a light sweetness and good smokiness respectively. The chili was good, with a nice slightly vinegar-y undertone, but I didn't have as much of it and can't speak too much. Overall an excellent restaurant, and much better than I had expected!More

Stopped in for quick bite to eat. Hostess was very nice & inviting. Sat on the other side of restaurant at window seat. The guy working that side was very attentive & it was like he read my mind; provided me things without asking. I...had tamales & a big bowl of the best chili, which hit the spot for a cool evening. Definitely recommend.More
