We were impressed by the friendly atmosphere, the music and the food. The ribs were delicious. We enjoyed our evening there so much we went back the second night.

This unpretentious juke joint, filled with locals, great food and memorable atmosphere, is the real deal. Blues drifting in from the adjacent club, excellent service, a vibe that says this is authentic Memphis. Don't miss it!

Absolutely awesome! My new favorite place to eat in Memphis! Loved it! Will definitely go back! Loved the gumbo, skillet shrimp, ribs and brownie dessert. The place was crowded by still had excellent service. There was a bar with a band but it was sort of secluded so still a great place for my entire family. We all absolutely loved... More

We visited here, but unfortunately it doesn't cater for gluten free diners. Except for an 18oz steak! I don't think so. Shame as a great atmosphere.

Good place for lunch, but you have to ask for a lunch menu. Very casual atmosphere. My cheeseburger and fries were very good. My husband did not like his pulled pork sandwich (probably because it was cut into big chunks instead of pulled). I can see where it would really be hopping at night with the bar open.

The ribs here were plentiful! This was our third meal of ribs in as many days, and it was by far the most generous in portion size and flavor! Also, we had to the awesome opportunity to listen to Blind Memphis!

We were excited to try a classic Memphis eatery and Blues City Cafe was perfect. Our server, Matt helped us with selections and ensured we were having a good meal. Food was good. Ribs were super succulent, with a nice BBQ flavor that did not overwhelm the taste of the ribs. We ended with the apple dessert. Wow.... yummy, but... More

This is an iconic eatery on Beale. The service is fine and the food average but if you want to feel like you went to a classic and historical diner while visiting Memphis, this is it.
