We didn't care for it at all. Too much grease and no flavor. Too noisy and you sit to close together.

A fun place for huge food portions, good beer and live music. The gumbo fries had been recommended to us by a local, and wow; they did not disappoint! We had them between 2 of us to start; the portion was massive, and by the time our ribs arrived (also to share), we were getting pretty full! Somehow, and I... More

I had a late lunch here after spending a couple hours at Graceland, so I walked an appetite. I was immediately seated and the wait person took my order. I had half rack ribs, which were very good. The lunch came with small portions of beans and slaw. The ribs were tender. They say these are the best ribs on... More

Highly recommended. Service is marvelous and food is superb. Old south atmosphere and decor. Would go back the next time in Memphis.

The food was average. The music was great, the atmosphere was ho hum. The service was fast. We'd go there again.

First the blessing. Go here when Blind Mississippi Morris sings the blues. A genius. Wonderfully gifted sidemen. Dalion Russell a standout drummer. Second the disappointment. The BBQ is washed out and tasteless. So, go for the music and just have a drink.

Stopped in Memphis for a night traveling over Thanksgiving. Hotel front desk suggested this place for dinner. The gumbo had just the right spices to give heat with great flavor. They offer generous portions of the catfish dinner and half rack of ribs. You should stop for a good meal in a fun atmosphere.

On our first night in Memphis, someone local recommended Blues City Cafe. ...Great choice. Ribs were great, as was the catfish and all the sides (in other words, everything! ). Inexpensive, appropriately downscale and fun . ....sometimes, that 's where you can get some of the best food. Right in the heart of it all, with entertainment, to boot !

We tried the ribs and loaded fries as a late night snack. The ribs were tender, but I had better a few blocks down. The load fries were awesome. A must get especially late night. We wanted to try the deserts, but just didn't have room after finishing our
